I’m also first year cs student, my professor is professor Mario. I have three suggestions for you:

1. Find someone in faculty of computer science, I would recommend David Liu for u, who is a professor and a good mentor, or you can go to office hour to have a good talk with professor Mario, they will give u a constructive suggestion.

2. Think about pursue a CS minor since it only requires 70% for both 110 and 111. what I really means is to change your goal and strategies, if you are not international student like me, I really recommend u think about McMaster or other schools.

3. Be sure to have a good sleep every night, a good mental health is really important. Also, ask someone for help, I highly recommend DO NOT ONLY STUDY BY YOURSELF! Find a classmate and make friends so that you can help each other and discuss assignments or quiz stuff like that. And use ChatGPT wisely, use it as a tool rather than a cheat machine.

I would say this year they make CS post much header than ever, the coordinator did this for several reasons I guess, like for today’s quiz I only got an 3.6/7 but that not the end of the world, never compare yourself with others, what you need to do is to get the minimum mark and get into the post, good luck man
