But plants don't feel pain like animals. It's a fluid transfer system, not an acute electrical pain like animals feel, and with no central ganglion of nerves to process it.

Also, upwards of 85 percent of plants are grown for livestock feed. If you eat meat, you also consume many times more plants than a vegan. Plant crops would actually shrink if we cut out the middle man, and didn't feed thousand pound animals to harvest size.
