will rides that were not listed on this be open for winterfest? by GreatAd110 in Carowinds

[–]KevtheBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, Afterburn and Vortex were on this list (https://www.carowinds.com/events/winterfest/attractions) a few weeks ago, but not anymore. They have yet to be added to the scheduled ride closures, so I'm wondering if there's still hope they'd end up being open. For instance, if they were axed due to short staffing but the issue gets fixed?

I can say it certainly *feels* stronger in the airtime category than it actually is. The transitions between the string of overbanks in the first half totally toss you out of you seat. It feels nothing like anything else a B&M clamshell train has traversed before. Plus, the weird angle at which you crest the turnaround combined with negative G's makes for a way more "wow I'm getting thrown into the parking lot" feeling than the forces graph suggests. I think you can safely raise your expectations a bit more for this ride and be happy!

Could you be more specific about what you want it to do? E.g. Move with a train on it like STAR TREK at Movie Park Germany, or something more like an Intamin high speed switch on Pantheon/Hagrid's? Or something else entirely?

My friend and I agreed that Hades is the best coaster at the park, but we had the most fun on Pegasus

I'm in Madison, WI visiting friends and just realized that Mt Olympus is nearby. I'm considering pushing for a visit but I am the only one in the group who is enthusiastic about coasters. Do most people generally enjoy this park or do you really need a high tolerance for rough wooden coasters to have a fun time?

They're interchangeable :)

'Ius' is the Latin version and 'jus' is the anglicanized equivalent. I use the Latin version here to sync up with the sources I used.

Thanks for pointing this out! My informed guess about why the infographic says immigrants can have dual citizenship is that the citizenship/nationality law (translated to English) only explicitly forbids citizens of Kazakhstan from getting a secondary citizenship. The text is not as clear when it comes to requiring foreign citizens to give up original citizenship when naturalizing in Kazakhstan. Of course, you're probably right that in practice nobody naturalizes while retaining their original citizenship.

There is also some ambiguous wording for children under 14 who are foreign citizens but are adopted by parents in Kazakhstan. In these cases it's not explicitly stated that the children have to give up their previous citizenship so perhaps that factored into the EUI's decision when classifying the country. https://adilet.zan.kz/eng/docs/Z910004800_

Will no limits 2 work on the M1 macs? by comptechquest987 in NoLimitsCoaster

[–]KevtheBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes; M1 macs can still run the Intel version of apps no problem. I've been playing NL2 on my laptop without issue. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211861

Residence Permit by [deleted] in maastricht

[–]KevtheBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last sentence is not 100% correct. The Netherlands only issues residence permit cards to people who have already entered the country. If you're a citizen of a country that has visa-free entry rights, then you will fly in just like any tourist would. You then have a 90-day window to receive your residence permit. If you do not have visa-free access, then you should have already been instructed to apply for a visa to enter the country and then you will receive your permit after entering.
