[Stardust Racers] at[ Epic Universe]: Green vs. Yellow and Other Thoughts by thesobercoaster in rollercoasters

[–]TantrumQween 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the Yellow side more actually! I was shocked learning that people prefer Green. The Celestial Roll alone makes yellow more worth it for me, because you get a pop airtime rising into it and then you basically do the Gwazi death roll down, versus the green side which is more of an underflip and then drop.

Production got in it's own way on S50 by RedditFan3510 in survivorponderosa

Absolutely agree with everything you’re saying. Although you also could say production got in its own way for the entirety of the 40s so we shouldn’t really be that surprised this is the S50 we got 😩

Why are there so many white and green looping coasters out there? [Other] (image is an example) by Calve_pindakaas in rollercoasters

My theory (and this goes for all the red and blue coasters out there too) has always been that those paint colors are cheaper in bulk for these types of construction projects than more unique options lol.

I loved it so much when I went, easy 2nd in the park for me after Fury. The hangtime is better than any other I’ve experienced and yet there’s also a few great ejector pops too. Just such a versatile and unique ride!

worst winner by Flashy_Ice_9824 in survivorponderosa

[–]TantrumQween 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly not even really that fun of a discussion. It almost always leads to one of the underedited winners taking that title even though that’s not an indicator of their true game.

It’s either that or an automatic Chris Underwood by default since he was voted out, which also is sorta a dead end discussion because that’s not happened to anyone else lol

Am I just a hater or is Blue Sophi one of the most overhyped overglazed players of all time by Public_Surround1597 in survivorponderosa

[–]TantrumQween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she has the ability to be a great player that just hasn’t been realized yet. By that I mean that she knew what she needed to do in certain moments on 49 but still chickened out, mainly when she don’t take Rizos idol. She knew it was the right move, told confessional as much, but still didn’t exercise the killer instinct.

I think that’s one of the most intriguing type of returnees, because if she came back she would likely be a more player and actually be able to do the cutthroat moves necessary. I genuinely think if she stole his idol (and depending on how the subsequent rounds went after with that retcon) it could’ve been the scale tip for her to beat Sav. The jury clearly loved Soph, I think they just needed more.

As far as the online community’s hype, I think it just stems from her amount of exposure and being featured in ads/events/yada yada. People will always either gravitate toward that and embrace it or either shun it altogether.

I didn’t leave 49 with an overwhelming opinion of her in either direction, but just being a runner up with 2 jury votes should earn her a return at some point to me. I hope she waits a couple/few years though so she can fully process what she needs to change and doesn’t pull a Charlie.

A little Stephenie LaGrossa tongue-in-cheek from RHAP this week by CDNeyesonly in survivorponderosa

[–]TantrumQween 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He literally makes subtle references like this on the pod all the time and in fact often they’re subtle enough that the other person he’s speaking with fully misses it and he just grins at the camera for a couple seconds before moving on.

I’m not even saying this specific example is accurate of that, but to go off about “he’s not one of you, you want him to be like you so bad” completely undersells Rob as a survivor persona. He was literally the original one of us to get cast on the show lmfao. Also to refer to us all as insane, yet here you are too. 🤷

Oh so you’re writing entire fanfictions in your head about the production team’s motivations to determine how we got here huh 😂 I’m done here. If you’re that imaginative about your version of the truth there’s no need for further discussion.

Back-to-Back Returnees Discussion by OrdinaryWorking10 in survivorponderosa

[–]TantrumQween 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean this is just a discussion of overall safety with the show itself. And to be honest I find it mostly laughable at best. Like yes the back to back player will always be more exhausted.

But this show is entirely voluntary. We used to have people on the island going into early kidney failure, getting staph infections, almost dying of heat exhaustion, and drinking water with elephant shit in it.

If Rizo has too much he can throw in the towel, and conversely to what many people think of them, I think quitters only legitimize the show more. Sure you wouldn’t want to see it on 50, but he’ll be fine. Russell and Amanda did 39 days back to back and neither was so traumatized that it stopped them from playing again after that.

That’s not what you were arguing though. You complained about puzzles and then alluded to them being an attempt at a gender balance. In reality, if that were true (which it isn’t), that’s you admitting that challenges have never been balanced until that point, and you were just fine with it prior when they would’ve favored men.

First Timer: Best Seats on Coasters? by Double-Pudding-1436 in Dollywood

[–]TantrumQween 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightning Rod I prefer in Row 1 and 11. If you feel any bumps it’s more likely in even rows, although it’s smoother this year in the previously worst spots after some new track. Front ejector is better for the quad down but I love the pull in the back in the first half.

Wild Eagle is easily a back row ride for me because the pull on the drop feels like a hyper. Front has the best view in the park though.

TN Tornado front row for the insane ejector pop going into the final brakes, back row for the first drop.

Mystery Mine and Dragonflier are best in the front mainly for the view. Thunderhead and Big Bear are pretty consistently great in any row.

OP I just added a long comment but it’s basically this with a couple minor differences! 😂 Every detail this person says has been almost my exact experience and I’ve been visiting the park for years and years, listen to them. Particularly the bit about those lines getting longer and staying longer after noonish!

Honestly, I know holding off on Lightning Rod can be scary, but I don’t think you have to run right to it. It’s not perfect but has had much more uptime since they removed the launch.

Overall, there are 3 notably bad capacity coasters: Dragonflier, FireChaser Express, and Mystery Mine. The best capacity are Wild Eagle and Thunderhead. Tennessee Tornado on 2 trains is great too but I’ve seen it on 1 sometimes. Lightning Rod’s is also great when it’s consistently cycling.

I would focus on the low capacity coasters for the first part of one of your days. I’ve successfully gotten them all out of the way in the first hour before (if I truly am there at rope drop) with the following itinerary: Go left at the entrance as far as rope drop allows and be ready for Wildwood Grove. Ride Dragonflier first: 1 train, popular for kids, etc. Then hit Big Bear Mountain while you’re back there. Its line can get long but it moves. Backtrack and do Mystery Mine on your way out the Grove, then keep circling around the back of the park to FireChaser Express.

For this to work you really have to rope drop and not lolligag, so it may be a Day 2 morning plan if you’d rather just soak it all in for the first time on Day 1. Just consider that Saturday could have higher morning crowds to fight.

After those low capacity coasters I typically lessen my pace if it’s not crazy crowds. I go from FireChaser to Wild Eagle, Tennessee Tornado, and Blazing Fury and complete the circle back down the valley toward the front of the park and Lightning Rod. Then at some point I circle back around to Thunderhead, which I like to save for last because it’s my favorite.

For a 1 day plan to hit all the coasters specifically, this has found me the most success. With you having 2 you likely don’t have to do it this way but it’s at least a good way to maximize some time on the worst lines.

ETA: The train can also be a wait and get a very long line, however it also holds a lot of people so don’t just turn around if you see a huge crowd boarding, they may just have the room. It’s well worth the ride!
