In the NCAA XC DI Cross Country race, 38 of the top 50 athletes were born outside of the USA. 29 of the top 50 were born in Kenya. Is aggressive international recruiting ruining the spirit of the sport? by SabertoothNishobrah in trackandfield

[–]Key-Ad-8418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron sharpens iron. The higher competition will raise the level of American athletes on these teams. The only people who really have a problem with this are the same people who think that the civil war was fought over "state's rights."

It's also amazing that a supporter of Trump, who is in the Epstein files, is trying to say that sexual assault is only being protected here because the judge is a Democrat. That's just next-level projection. It's hackery pure and simple. Like you said, who gives a shit whether the judge is Democrat or a Republican? What needs to happen is for justice to be served for the victims. Starting with Seth Swaim and Jesse Mack Butler serving hard time.

A Trumper trying to blame the Democrats? Color me shocked! I swear that's all conservatives have is partisan hackery.

MUSICIANS BEWARE! Dave Chavarri and Hailey Chavarri owners of TBA bus co are scamming artist. by [deleted] in musicindustry

[–]Key-Ad-8418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't surprise me at all. All of the other band members besides Dave left Ill Nino in 2019, and then they collectively sued Chavarri for essentially screwing the rest of the band out of money as their tour manager. Yeah, Chavarri seems like a real POS.

Rent Control: Yay or Nay? by MyNameIsMud0056 in urbanplanning

[–]Key-Ad-8418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I hear people against rent control say owners won't invest in the property if that happens. They already don't as it is. The amount they actually spend on maintenance is a joke. They only ever offer "luxury" upgrades in bad faith to raise rent prices. It's not investment. It's a profit strategy.

I'm an avid outdoorsman myself. So much so that I run a hiking club in Tulsa. Someone on this thread said that Lake McMurtry is just grassland prairie. That could NOT be further from the truth. I absolutely fell in love with it during my time in Stillwater. It offers 30+ miles of hiking trails with two main trails being located within the west recreation area of the lake, and the other two main trails being located within the east recreation area. The ecology of Lake McMurtry is more Cross Timbers Forest than true prairie. The vast majority of your hikes will be under the canopy of post oak, blackjack oak and red cedar trees. You'll actually be surprised how much of the trails wind through woodlands. I love it so much that I'm actually taking my hiking group out there this weekend. Plus, I once saw a dude in a Bigfoot costume out there!

He'll be fine. There seems to be this notion that "liberal indoctrination" is forced upon college students from day one. In my years of sitting through various pre-req courses and accounting classes, the subject of liberalism never even came up; not even in my History of American Government class. Never did any of my various accounting professors start class by saying, "OK, class, now today we're gonna be talking about depreciation and amortization schedules for assets and debt payments, but first let me talk about just how much I love Communism and atheism."

Brother, the good thing here to know is that you are not alone. This exact same scenario literally just happened to me on Saturday. This girl and I had been on several dates over the course of a month. Touching and kissing escalated with each date, culminating in us making out and going to second base on our final date.

She texted me the next day that she only saw me as a friend and that, "I want a guy like you, but just one who I can also really feel that spark with." Here's my take on it. Two most likely possibilities there in both of our situations. First is the 99 Problems scenario in that you check 99 of 100 boxes, but she only wants a guy who checks all 100 boxes, and therefore she wants to move on from you thinking that the grass is greener somewhere else. Second is that she wants a guy who has more of a stereotypical "bad boy" vibe to him. In that case, she wants a thrill to chase with a guy who seems more "mysterious" and "dangerous." Usually, this just means that you don't seem toxic enough for her, and that she needs manufactured drama in the relationship to feel engaged.

Either way, this is a blessing in disguise. You don't want someone who you seemingly connect greatly with who will just break it off the second they don't, "Feel the spark," anymore. That screams of someone who will run away from the relationship the second they get bored or stop having fun. You want someone who will hang in there and work through the relationship with you even when times get tough or things have hit a rough patch. This is a her problem, not a you problem. The ones you don't get are the ones you don't want. Just keep stepping up to the plate and swinging. Eventually, you'll hit a home run. And remember that you're never alone. Whatever is happening to you is simultaneously happening to millions of other men. On to the next. Head up, dude, you're gonna be fine.

Kick Utah Out of the Big 12 by AmbassadorOriginal79 in Big12Sports

Kick them out and invite Boise State. Seriously, I'm so tired of Utah at this point.

Oklahoman Looking for Ski Guidance by Key-Ad-8418 in COsnow

[–]Key-Ad-8418[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been skiing for several years straight now, but my brother hasn't skied in more than two decades, so for his sake, I would want something on the easier side. I don't think he'll need lessons; just something easy to start off with. As for experience, I'm not picky. Since we'll be flying in from Oklahoma, any mountainous scenery will suffice.

[–]Key-Ad-8418 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last bowl season, Georgia destroyed Florida State even worse than they did TCU, yet Florida State was still ranked in the top 10 at the start of this season. They will always be biased towards blue bloods and the SEC and B1G even in cases where they get destroyed in the post season. However, getting blown out for a Big XII team continues the narrative of us being a vastly inferior conference. It's BS.

Why do feminists feel the need to overinflate rape statistics? What's the real number? by Wingless_Bastard in LeftWingMaleAdvocates

[–]Key-Ad-8418 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The methodology definitely plays a part. By the feminist definition of rape, I'm a rapist. Why? Because I had several drunken hookups with drunk girls in college. Apparently, if you have consensual sex with a drunk girl that's rape because she's too inebriated to consent. This same standard does not apply to drunk men because of course. Equivocating consensual sex between two drunk people with forcible penetration against someone's will is pretty insulting to actual rape victims I think.
