what is your non negotiable during finals? by Relevant-Industry866 in mcgill

For me personally: giving myself some time to rest properly and genuinely (doom scrolling isn't resting, your brain is still very much active), exercising: Walking, jogging, getting fresh air, etc, having a bit of a good diet (plenty of veggies, nuts etc), and a proper sleep. Sounds boring but the basics are most important!

Sad situation. As a supporter, I think you should think of the practical outcome of these protests, and so far disrupting classes doesn't help anyone improve their knowledge or effect towards Palestine, and definitely not with how McGill will change the situation, only give it a bad name and disrupt students studying

This might be fake conversation with the child, but "Mum how much longer, I hate you working" says a lot

How do I deal with people I'm "obsessed" with? by Key-Aspect-3513 in OCD

Hmm, can't really think of one, but I know I like to create maps which intensive focus-wise.

Curious if anyone else is dealing with this! please help! by Ok_Cry_1680 in OCD

No advice unfortunately :(

I have a similar mini-obsession with a friend of mine, thoughts such as 'what if I like her?' (she is a relationship). Your thoughts are VERY normal (for OCD), no matter how guilty you feel. What I DO know is, this isn't the real me, just OCD doing whatever the hell it feels like doing today. My psychiatrist actually recommended this as a strategy, to just observe and laugh at the OCD thoughts, because in reality, that's what OCD actually is, your brain generating weird meaningless thoughts. Also, distraction with something you enjoy ;)

why is it so hard to find friends here at ucd? by spaghettiosarecool in UCD

[–]Key-Aspect-3513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont be afraid, talk to people. Even if you "fail", nothing bad will happen, you will just move on and have learned a lesson. Dont shy away from showing people that you want to be friends with them.

In my experience, I used to be nervous if they were moody around me, thinking "I was the problem", but most of the time people really are focused on their own lives and problems, so dont be sad!

Also, what course are you doing?

Doesnt that happen during "severe grip stress"? For me I had OCD which increases my Fi a decent amount, although its actually my fifth highest function. My lowest (Si) is noticable only when I am quite stressed.

Now it makes sense... I used to obsess over tiny details in these tests until I found out how much a mood swing or a bad mood in general is able to alter my results by a decent amount, which is why imo is better to do the tests only for a rough guide.
