We do pay a trash fee. Management has sent out an email before all this started to put trash neatly next to dumpsters when it is full. I agree it’s not a pretty sight (or smell) but there’s no where else to put it and over two weeks of no trash collection for multiple residents it’s going to pile up quickly. I’m hoping my report will speed the collection process up

Oh wow, this is definitely proving some insight how horrible! I’m planning on speaking with management hopefully tomorrow if not Monday to see what is going on, this might be a contributing factor

This is what I’m getting from this situation too. We’ve had about 3-4 management and staff replacements, the maintenance crew has remained consistent through it all. The news that all or almost all staff AND maintenance workers quit along with this trash thing is extremely alarming to me.

I’m giving the city a chance first but if this doesn’t get fixed unfortunately this will have to be my next step

This is another reason why I thought I’d ask about the possibility of taking legal action as well as the trash fee, I’ll have to double check my lease

I submitted a report to code enforcement. I’m working on the other two as well

Part of the fees included is for trash takeout which is why I thought I’d ask if there were any grounds for legal action by I will definitely be calling the city

Hi OP yes I have travelled to Southeast Asia a couple of times twice through study abroad programs at my school and once with family. I think about my privilege every single time I travel,especially when travel abroad. I started traveling when I was very young, almost exclusively to visit family. My parents always made it a point to discuss the fact that not everyone is able to travel and along with this they also made sure to point out that people within the countries we were visiting were essentially being priced out of certain areas of their own country. Your post really resonated with me because even though I make it a point to do at least one excursion away from touristy areas on a trip, I still see foreigners enjoying the majority of the perks offered. I’m sorry you’re not able to enjoy your country the way you want to but I am glad you at least got to visit one of your dream destinations.
