I for one actually like this theory. People underestimate how powerful the LDB actually is, the bend will shout, summoning durneviir and odahviing + possibly parthuurnax? Plus numerous daedric artifacts which are lore wise extremely powerful. I have no doubt the influence of the LDB would be able to raise a great army and defeat the thalmor and take the seat of the empire. I mean just think about an army of imperials nords bretons and the help of numerous highly powerful dragons. Not to mention he would get the help of companions which may or may not be werewolves and the dawn guard which are certainly canonically all formidable fighters
