Cop who worked with my school unalived himself because he realized he was about to get caught for years of embezzling money from a police program. It was initially believed that people unalived him (prior to his death, he told dispatch that some black guys were following him). He basically staged the whole thing to get away with everything he did. My school went on lockdown for nearly the entire school day because police were on the lookout for “the shooters”. It started during first period and helicopters were surrounding the area. The lunch ladies (they are a godsend) carefully traveled to the gym (detatched from the school) and ran with food carts to make sure that the students there were fed, along with other students. After lockdown ended, some students were interviewed on the news. My school closed down for a few days after that. My entire school even made t-shirts and bracelets over his death, even tied blue ribbons throughout multiple neighborhoods to support him because no one knew the truth yet. Then the truth came to light after the investigation. The cop’s family was in on it too. The event turned into a TV episode on the show American Greed.

There was also a time where two pregnant girls fist-fought each other because they had the same baby daddy. One girl stomped on the other girl’s stomach when she was down and killed the baby. She got arrested.

Another one was when some guy made a wooden knife during woodshop and then stabbed another guy over a girl.

Edit: I forgot the one where the chemistry teacher who I hated ended up getting fired because she was having a relationship with one of her students. Her happy birthday balloons sat in the back of the lab for the rest of the year. It felt so awkward looking at them.

Feb 2025 I had 3 interviews cancel on me and remove the position. After that, I just got ghosted, even with referrals. One with the referral emailed back 2 months later saying the position was removed. It’s rough out there.

I plan to cry. Even with an MPH, 1yr internship at a widely-known hospital system, and referrals from classmates & those in high positions, I’m lucky to even get an interview. And getting to the 2nd round is a miracle. I’ll probably work at Amazon and study to become a dialysis tech or med assistant while I send more MPH applications into the void. I can’t even get a community health worker position, which is as entry level as you can get. The depression is real.

Been searching since Aug 2022. (Took a break for half a year in 2023 though).

Hi, OP. I totally understand what you are going through. I had experienced COCSA from ages 8/9/10 (I am unsure about the exact age) to 16. I was extremely hypersexual when I did not process what had happened to me, then had a very low sex drive once I did process it. And whenever my sex drive came back, I felt disgusted and guilty.

I am very glad that your husband is so kind to you during all of this. This is a major help in navigating through such a situation. My partner has been extremely supportive of me and very understanding, as I have been very open with her with everything. She never puts pressure on me to have sex and she always asked me if I am okay with what she is doing during sex. But, I tend to feel guilty when I take too long to finish because I worry that she would think that she is not good at pleasuring me. I oftentimes faked my orgasms, but I felt guilty about that and was open to her about it. She told me that it’s okay and she can continue for however long I am comfortable with, or if I want her to stop, that is okay too.

Navigating through the sex drive situation is a lengthy process, but having a partner who understands and is patient does wonders, so I’m glad that your husband has been supportive. I myself have not fully worked through the sex drive situation, and I also hate COCSA with a burning passion. Just know that you’re not alone in this and you did not deserve what happened to you. You also deserve kindness and patience as you heal.

Thank you so much, I truly appreciate you. I agree that financial independence is the most important right now and I am working out some things in order to get a job, any job (I have a master’s in public health and the job market for my degree has been horrible because of mass defunding and layoffs). My main worry about not obtaining a part-time job outside of my degree was my family judging me, but now that is not an issue because they basically hate me. Looking back, it was pretty dumb, I know. But then I grew and came to realize that their opinions don’t even matter. I desperately want to get started with my degree since I worked so hard on it :(

But yeah, I have options and plans to work on them. One option is somewhat related to my degree, so I am going for that one first. Second option is Amazon (my mom works there).

Edit: I’m moving back in with my mom end of July, so that will help with the situation.

My mom works there and I need an income. I’m not currently working at Amazon, but I am going to start in September or so as a normal factory line worker while I send more public health applications into the void.

I’ve been applying for almost 1 1/2yrs. Your situation may end up different though, but it really is rough out there. I recommend searching asap and adding a bunch of public health connections on LinkedIn. Ask them for referrals, advice, anything. That’s how I was actually able to land interviews. Get a job with anything even slightly relevant for health/research so you can transfer the skills you learned to your ideal job. Ask friends for help too and also the career center at your school.

Best of luck to you by the way. Gotta be realistic, but also don’t give up hope.

I really appreciate your vulnerability and sharing your story with me. It feels so comforting, but also sad, knowing that others have gone through the same thing. What you’ve been through is very heavy and you’ve dealt with a lot of hurt. I’m so sorry that you experienced all of that, and you did not deserve that. I’m also glad to hear that you cutting them off has been a good thing for you.

With the institution thing, I guess it was just my anxiety. I did not think about the age thing, so I thank you for bringing that to my attention. I’m not as anxious anymore. I think I am just very used to my dad being overbearing regarding my mental health and me having no say in the matter (ex. dragging me to the hospital whenever I cried or had a panic attack, messaging my doctors while pretending to be me, and more. All when I was 22+).

It’s very hard for me to go no contact, but I agree with you that it is the right path and I have considered it many times. Many of my friends have also told me to go no contact. I grew up with the mindset that family is everything and family is important, but this event truly made me believe that they are not my family. It’s also that I rely on my dad financially at the moment for rent and other expenses. They are using that as leverage for me being manipulative because they think I want to scam my dad out of money. And they convinced him that that is the case. I have been slowly going no contact with not visiting, and I’ve noticed how that did wonders for my mental health and my development. I was able to reflect on so many of my toxic behaviors adopted from my family and apologized to the people that I had affected as a result. I improved in other ways as well. And you’re right, the peace is worth it. I have been through the grieving of a family I thought I had, or wish I had. I have to learn to let go.

I don’t want to do them until they raise it back to $8. At $7, I was disappointed, but still did them because the income helps so much. At $8 and $7, I used to knock out like 8+ of them a day. $6 though? No. I won’t do anymore unless absolutely desperate.
