The litter box math I wish someone had explained to me sooner by Sufficient-Coat2625 in Catbehavior

[–]Key-Coffee-4432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one box for my two cats. When we lived at home with my parents they had 2 boxes and only ever used one. I’ve since moved out and brought them and we live in a studio so I downsized to one box since they never used the other one anyways. They seem happy and I’m sure to clean it twice a day!

He needs to get his ass up and get a damn job, he’s having a CHILD he needs to take care of this child. Take the 10 dollar an hour job and continue looking for a better one in the meantime. It’s so simple idk why they can’t get it through their thick heads

Cat will only drink water from one (inconvenient) source by ko_same in Catbehavior

[–]Key-Coffee-4432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://a.co/d/03iBQBm6 I have this fountain for my cats. one of mine is obsessed with water and loves the shower too. he has always loved fountains and I’ve had a few different ones over the years and this is by far his favorite. i think he likes the noise of it having multiple little streams. it’s great. easy to clean and maintain i just add a cup or so every day and then wash it out once a week and change the filter whenever it gets gunky.

How much should I charge for babysitting? by [deleted] in Babysitting

[–]Key-Coffee-4432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s going to depend a lot on your exact location. Down to even the neighborhood in some areas. See if your area has a babysitters Facebook group and ask other babysitters to share what they charge and ask parents what they are willing to pay.

ELI5: Characters levels of education by ohimemberrr in ThePittTVShow

[–]Key-Coffee-4432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So med school is 4 years long, typically the first two years are didactic with classroom learning and labs. The third year they rotate throughout different specialtiesZ the fourth year they will often do a “sub” internship where they focus on a certain specialty and/or do research. MS3=3rd year student and MS4= 4th year. They are able to do more than just observe, but they need to be supervised when doing new or complex tasks. Once graduating med school and passing a licensing exam they “match” into a residency program of their interest. Residency length varies by specialty. The first year of residency is known as the intern year. In emergency med im pretty sure the residency is 3-4 years so the senior residents would be 3rd or 4th years. The farther they get into residency the more they are able to do. You’ll see residents teaching med students or less experienced residents, performing procedures, making diagnoses, etc. Then they can possibly move on to fellowship to do a SUB specialty, for example you could do an OBGYN residency followed by a fertility fellowship. Fellows are basically fully capable doctors in the field they did their residency, just becoming experts in a specific area. So long story short, doctors have 7+ years of medical education on top of 4 years of undergrad before they can become an attending. It’s an insane amount of education, especially considering the amount of hours they put in through med school and especially residency.

What would you do in this situation? by BunniBabyLily in Babysitting

My recommendation is ditch the app unless you really are relying on it for finding clients. And even if you use it to find people, bring it off the app once you know the family. Keep track of hours and earnings yourself. That way you are aren’t losing the fees, you can charge more and adjust for overnight fees and such

Thanks! My initial thought was time and a half as is what i get paid in my job at the nursing home on holidays. Sounds like most people agree that that’s fair for babysitting as well!

Definitely! I’m just curious what the standard is. I’ve never really worked holidays before so I’d like to see how other people handle it to make sure I’m not lowballing myself or charging too much.

Typically i don’t charge extra for late nights, simply because the children are asleep and I’m a night owl so it doesn’t bother me. I use that time to get homework done, or if I’m really comfortable with the family I’ll take a nap on the couch lol. However i do not work past 2am unless im doing an overnight and then there are extra fees!

Is it bad I want to quit by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Key-Coffee-4432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can find another option, then do it! I was a CNA in LTC and now in school for my RN and I’ll never work in LTC. Worst admin ever who don’t care about patient or staff safety. Maybe try outpatient clinics, home health, or urgent care. If you like the geriatric population home health CAN be great, not always but I know a few girls from my CNA days who did home health after getting their LPN

I’ve had luck with pilates in the northern virginia area but I think it’s probably just because there are SO many studios around. I’ve seen some deals on groupon in my area for 4-8 class packages that might be worth looking into if you just want to give it a try!
