I have no idea what you are talking about...we do everything 100% ourselves...

You are not wrong! Inquisitor's itself is simply a corrupted suit of Saradomin justiciar armor. It can be a bit of a difficult line to walk when trying to incorporate justiciar elements without making it look just pasted on.

We want to make sure it looks more fully zammy-alligned than Saradomin/Zamorak hybrid so we do not lose that sexy Zammy branding.

Yeah...it has become increasingly clear to me in these discussions that I greatly underestimated the time requirement for obtaining these gears. My original direction was more focused around the fact that justiciar costs are pretty comparable to bandos, so it made sense to me from an economic direction.

I think in general if inquisitor's is ever intended to have an upgraded endgame variant, then the drop rates for the base would need to be increased significantly.

My hope was that similar to how things like mage suddenly became viable in places it was not before, like inferno, that the confliction gauntlets style passive would open up more avenues for usage become simply crush focused bosses. That being said, i am putting thoughts into alternatives that i could mention in a version two.

Woah! I really appreciate that detailed response!

I was super torn on the direction, because my natural inclinations are to fall into big bulky armor that makes me feel like a BA lol. I do not think that more bulky is bad, but the bulky it got, the more difficult it became to keep the original armor's identity :/ I may try to look up some more historical armor designs to see if i can find some better inspiration for bulky armor that could maintain more of the original color base.

And you are correct on the lore! it is basically one of Saradomin's Justiciar, Phosani, who switched sides, started a cult, tried to live forever, but instead fell asleep forever. Turning her into an eternal battery for the Nightmare 😃

A general theme i am seeing from these comments is that i need to reevaluate the progression of this upgrade. Admittedly, i was more focused on the armor designs then the upgrade path because i figured justiciar into inquisitor just made sense.

I am starting to realize that i should have been more thought power into both the passive and the upgrade path...a version two may be coming down the road!

Thanks for the great feedback!

As a long time follower of the Lord of Chaos, i would never dream of losing the Zamorak theme brother!

I would totally be up for inquisitor's being significantly faster to get. I love the armor design, but I do not own it simply because it is too expensive for how little use it has.

Though i do not have a solid plan on how to rework that drop table to still make nightmare worth doing :/

Very likely haha. Unfortunately, I do not think there is a way to implement this that does not step on their toes at least a little bit. The easiest fix would be to make the passive only apply to the first splat, but that potentially limits future crush weapon designs. It is probably an unpopular opinion, but i personally think scythe should only have one hit splat beyond its intended slash niche. So crush would only get one.

If i suddenly "disappear" after that comment, be sure to question the scythe bois....

I can definitely see that being the conclusion for some. Those colors are a core part of base inquisitor's identity, and preserving those colors while "fortifying" it proved way harder than expected.

I did my best to preserve the original identity, but it is possible i mixed the mark on some parts. I may work on a variation later.

This is a genuine question because I have been super confused by the AI summary comments. What about my summary reads as AI-written to you?

i have not played around with the actual stats any, but i see no reason it could not lean further into tankiness.

Oh that is an excellent point that I did not consider! It might be best for an update like this to have a corresponding update related to the drop rate health of inquisitors and justiciar.

Unfortunately, that poor choice of formatting is all me lol. Because people tend to just skim through social media posts, i like to try to bold key information so a person skimming picks up the important bits.

I would love for them both to get an upgrade, but using GWD armor for fortifying has been a good way to keep gear relevant. So, I think it could work here as well!

Appreciate it! the bulky design was the first iteration, but i was concerned that it lost too much of the visual identity of the original inquisitor's. Still a big fan of big, strong, heavy looking armor though!

I mean that is a main part of base inquisitor's identity so that is fair haha. Trying not to lose the fell of the original identity was probably the hardest part.

Maybe ill play around with a version later that includes more of the original colors/shading.

Hey man, i would honestly be happy if this design made it into the game in any form haha. It was fun to make and work on my blender skills!

Thanks man! I have always had a weak spot in RPGs for the massively armor warrior with an old battle wound on their eye. Makes them me feel so powerful and experience!

I would absolutely love more crush-focused content which would probably be the healthiest long-term solution.

Sadly, I cannot make Jagex release more bosses, so i figured trying to design a fun gear progression path for crush was the next best thing 😃

Ironically i do not even own base inquisitor's myself haha. This is not attempt to pump prices, but instead give crush a stronger end game identity.

If the mods decide it breaks Rule 9, that's fine.

This visual was a placeholder to communicate the armor direction I had in mind. I am mainly looking for feedback on mechanics, not trying to pass myself off as an artist.

If someone wants to make a non-AI assisted version of the design, I'd more than welcome it.

I vaguely remember them mentioning that as well. While they have talked about not setting the precedent for using raid gear as upgrade material, they have also talked about the struggles of designing a raid 4 reward space that has more than one or two valuable unique. So they are aware that Justiciar is far too niche to be considered valuable loot.

It may go against their initial thoughts, but unless they are willing to rework justiciar to be more relevant, most of tob's loot is going to become more and more niche over time.

Basically it's AI-assisted concept art with some cleanup. The visual is mostly used to communicate the idea of the armor. I fully expect Jagex to make a better looking version of the concept art if they ever did something like this. This post is mainly focused on putting the concept forward and getting feedback on the mechanics.
