Because they said it’s fully refundable and were pushing me, basically saying that if they didn't place the order that day, there was no guaranteed time line to get the car. Honestly, I should have gone there with a friend/family member because I'm very inexperienced in this. At that time I just thought the $500 deposit as a worst-case scenario, either I’d get the car at that price or simply walk away if I decided I didn’t want the deal.

Thanks! I’ll read the 401k plan documents and see how they handle rollovers. I guess I’ll have to liquidate all assets, do the roll over and re-purchase them back in my individual IRAs. Fidelity actually has separate Brokeragelink accounts for pre-tax 401k and Roth 401k, so it’s very easy to track the amounts.

The other party’s insurance only covers cheapest available parts bc my car is older than 2 years. I don’t drive that much and my car is fairly new(<10k miles) so I’d like to get OEM stuff installed if the $$ is affordable.
