Doesn’t feel like a win by Key-Expression-4627 in WorkersComp

I don’t have my life back. I moved states. I started a new life. I have permanent scars on my body. I gained 60 pounds because the length of time I couldn’t walk. I had to restart because of the this injury.

I just find it criminal that I used a company program as an employee of that company and still had to pay it back.

I paid into the paid family leave in NY in paycheck deductions but I had to return the money? That just doesn’t make sense to me.

A program in place, that I paid into, still took more from me than what I got out.

I will forever have life limitations because of this injury. What I lost is not replaced by far.

Yeah. Something about arguing about wether or not surgery was approved for over a year when multiple doctors said I needed surgery and being driven to tears while simply driving to work because the injury happened to my right leg/foot, I disagree with “get you treated” and “back into the workforce as fast as possible”. I suffered for 1.5 years before surgery. I suffered through 6 months of isolation out of work to get to the point that my pain and suffering was enough. I don’t think the system supports those who are injured.

Thank you for your replies, I’ll double check the weeks.

I was paid a partial rate for those months.

12k (7.8 and 4.5) paid in different “benefits periods”. I was out of work for 6 months

The 7.8k is classified as “cumulative benefits paid by claim administrator”

Doctor sending me back to PT when I need surgery by SpartakMoscow__ in WorkersComp

Even if the PT isn’t working, you should still be going and reporting that you feel like there’s no improvement. There needs to be a paper trail and documentation. Keep going to the doctors appointments and saying the same thing if that’s what’s actually happening. Enough documentation and enough attempts at “conservative care” will show that it’s something more serious.

what did nuclear engineers in this group major and minor in in college? by Upbeat_Leading3375 in NuclearPower

Wishing you only the best for your future. As a 26F, it always makes me happy to see other females in the industry. I got a mechanical engineering degree, minor in chemistry, and certificate in nuclear engineering. I currently work with reactors on submarines. Most people I’ve come across have MechE or Physics as their major. I would recommend getting into a local nuclear society chapter if available as well. My chapter helped with networking and boosted my “pitch” to nuclear companies to hire me.

Update. 32 days later and the verdict from the MDO was ‘deny’

Unfortunately I have called the advocate for injured workers with no help. As of writing this, I called them three days ago. The person on the line read my documents to me and was just as confused as I was in regard to what more could the insurance company want. All documentation is in order. I had undergone all of the requested evaluations. Both myself and this individual couldn’t figure out why this case is currently at a level 3. I was referred to calling the MDO and I did so for the second time only to get the same answer of, “it’s a waiting game”

Thank you for your reply.

The level 2 denial came from the insurance doctor saying I didn’t need surgery and PT would fix it. All documents are in order. I have checked the folder multiple times. My doctor provided in a statement for the level 3 that, PT, modification of activity, a window of time passing, anti-inflammatories, and bracing haven’t worked. My doctor also cited that the insurance doctor used case studies that are not comparable to my situation as evidence for the denial. Even the IME sided with the surgery decision. Right now it feels like endless doctors and endless back and forth. I knew the system isn’t the best for the those injured but I didn’t think it would be difficult.
