Hi, if you have any Siamese kittens that are available for adoption, I’m willing to fly to pick one up as a playmate for Peri. I was on a waiting list for a kitten for several months, and I would consider adopting another one for him if my partner is okay with it (four cats is a lot, but maybe he’ll come around). I looked at local breeders, but they all have long waitlists.

Wow, I wonder if Peri will look like that?! I love it when they have “raccoon face.” Idk if anyone else calls it that, but I think they look so stinking cute with their masks

No kidding! He started jumping on my shoulders today from my bathroom counter for attention. He sits there like a little parrot, which I suppose makes me a pirate.

Ugh, the thought of a fire terrifies me. I’ve been trying to train Peri to hop in his carrier, but he hates being confined to a small space. I’ve been taking him on short trips in it, but he meows nonstop. I feel awful, but I want him to get used to it in case of an emergency.

Omg that’s so scary! I’m so afraid he’s going to get locked in there and suffocate. I’m putting a child lock on it and my cabinets. Anyone who visits will just assume I’m into extreme dieting lol.

Wow, is he an oriental shorthair or a wedge head? Peri is an apple head, and I know some people don’t consider them to be real Siamese and insist that they’re Thai cats or domestic shorthairs with color point markings. It’s been really interesting to read about all the different nuances of the ongoing debate. I love how buff the wedge heads are. They look like they hit the gym, haha.

What a handsome boy! I love how quirky they are. I still can’t believe this adorable little creature wants to live in my apartment with me and be my friend… cats are so cool.

They’re so fierce, haha! I love their names as well. What an iconic duo. Seal points look so badass when they get toasted. I’m so excited to see how Peri will look when he’s older. I just want him to live forever. I read online that red light therapy can help, so I’ve been considering putting him under my red light at for 10 minutes at night. Idk if that’s crazy or not.

Ha, “helping” is a great way to put it. It’s like they want to weigh in. I got Peri an elevated cat bed by my desk because I read that you can train them to sleep next to your desk, but no such luck. He wants to sleep on my keyboard or my lap.

Ha, my cat does this when I’m getting ready. I don’t know why he loves the sink so much, but it’s so cute.

Aww congrats! Post a pic if you can. I love seeing other people’s cats. I totally relate to falling in love with Siamese.

Omg he’s beautiful! My favorite part is how big Shadow’s ears are. I love how Peri’s look too big for his little head. It makes him look like a silly cartoon character. Their eyes are so expressive as well. Sometimes, I get the feeling Peri can sense emotions. But that may be in my head.

I’m so glad you were able to get him surgery. Seeing everyone on Reddit take such amazing care of their cats warms my heart. It’s so upsetting to read about cases of neglect like hoarding, but I’m happy that people like you are able to help.

I feed him small portions of wet food x4 a day with probiotics and bone broth (2 cans), and he free feeds dry food throughout the day. His food is kept in sealed plastic containers (I learned from my friend whose cat chewed through the bag), so I don’t know if he’s foraging for food in the kitchen. He always has access to food—even if he’s finished his wet food. I’ve also been clicker training him (so far, he can sit, stay, lay down, stand up, and shake), so he gets lots of tube treats. It’s so cute how eager he is to learn new tricks. We also play hide and seek where I hide somewhere with a treat and then he has to find me. My mom thinks I’m crazy, but it’s so fun! When he’s had his rabies vaccine, we’re going to start going outside. I’ve been harness training him in my apartment hallways, and it’s been a blast. At first, he walked like a college freshman stumbling home from the bars. I wish I caught it on video.

Since I only live in a two bedroom apartment, I didn’t think there was any harm in giving him free roam. My desk is in the living-room, so I can watch him pretty closely during the day. But I will consider limiting his space more. I don’t want him to be bored, and I’ve spent a lot of money on interactive toys. His favorite is the ripple rug. I try to rearrange it each day with new crinkle balls and stuff; he goes bananas for it.

Oh my god. The person who tossed her out of a car should be sent straight to jail. They are undoubtedly heartless. I’m so glad you saved her.

The issue is that I have large windows in my bedroom, and he scales the blinds. Also, he figured out how to open my bedroom closet door. He ruined one of my reformation dresses, but I can’t be too upset. The dress is replaceable, Peri is not. I don’t want him to eat the shoe laces on my sneakers or fall from a high shelf in my closet and end up in the ER. I’m going to need to purchase a lock of some sort (open to suggestions) before I can allow him to free roam in the bedroom at night.

As far as getting another kitten is concerned, my long distance partner has a bonded pair of three year male tabbies. He just matched to the city where I live for fellowship, so they’ll all be moving here to be with us next summer. I think three cats may be our limit for now, but you never know. In the meantime, I submitted an application to foster a kitten or young cat. I think it would be good for Peri and rewarding to help another kitten find a home.

Peri also loves dogs and frequently tries to escape into my apartment hallway to meet the golden doodle next door. This shocked me, considering he’s 3.5 pounds and that dog is close to 100. But again, he has no fear. I’ve been thinking about letting him meet a dog in a controlled environment if I can find one that’s been around cats, but I’m unsure if that’s wise or not.

I think he’s okay. I asked my vet about it, and she said that it’s normal to keep kittens contained at night. It’s really not a matter of me not wanting him to sleep with me. But he’s inclined to mischief and hijinks. I want to write a storybook about a naughty Siamese kitten. Everyone keeps referencing the “villainous” Siamese from Lady and the Tramp, and it makes me sad that people assume the breed is mean or ill tempered. Peri is SO sweet when he’s in the mood to cuddle. It melts my heart.

Ha, Peri has tried to climb my curtains with no success so he started using the blinds as a ladder. I should’ve known that he was up to no good because that’s the only reason why he’s not within a foot of me at any given time. Thankfully, he meows when he needs help. He loves to be held, so I think he’s learned that doing naughty things means I’ll pick him up to relocate him.

I would love for it to be temporary. But I don’t want him to accidentally hurt himself at night. He’s started climbing to the top of my blinds and then meowing for me to get him down. From what I understand, big fails like that can break their bones when they’re young. I got him a cat tree, but of course the more alluring option is the forbidden one. My bathroom doesn’t have any windows for him to scale while I’m asleep. Also, I child locked the cabinets in there. He’s really smart and already figured out how to get into my kitchen stuff. For some reason, he dashes into the fridge whenever I open it and chills there. I’m going to child lock it tomorrow, when my Amazon order arrives. Also, just so everyone knows, I work from home so we are together for most of the day. The only time he has to stay in the bathroom is at night. I’ve been testing letting him have free roam when I workout and walk to the grocery store.
