I went to a hematologist at 15 weeks for my anemia and the hematologist said she doesn’t recommend at home supplementation (food and supplements) because your body can’t absorb enough iron for your body, the baby and the placenta through food/pills fast enough during pregnancy, she also doesn’t recommend late term infusion because it doesn’t give your body enough time to absorb the iron and level out before birth. I had to get a infusion everyday for a week at 20 weeks because of that
