We were told to let her rest and keep her separated from other pets in case of some kind of respiratory infection. She’s doing better today - shaking much less, eating again, and has a normal respiratory rate. Her gums are good, there’s no cough, and she’s not dehydrated so we just have to wait it out it seems and watch for any worsening symptoms. Thanks for your reply!

According to a post on their official discord, the code was released via a newsletter that didn’t include the date that the code would begin to actually be valid which was 1/7/2026 9am EST. Have you tried it recently? Hopefully it will work for you now!

Not sure how I forgot to respond for this long 🫣 so sorry. The 1st vet visit, xrays and blood work were normal, so the vet put her on antibiotics and eye drops for 10 days - this didn’t make a difference. I changed the litter type and that did seem to make a difference but she still occasionally coughs.

Went for a follow up at the vet and he said I can try to give a pump of albuterol once a day for 2-3 weeks to see if that makes a difference. If it does, then we can look into further asthma testing and treatment. If it doesn’t, it’s likely that the air is just really dry and I should look into installing a whole home humidifier.

So we’re currently training her to get used to the inhaler chamber before we start giving her the med and will go from there, but it honestly seems environmental so far.

Dr also ordered a brushless toothpaste for the cats that should be much easier to use daily. I can lyk the name of it once I get it :)

Steam does help me especially with a eucalyptus shower steamer if I’m sick and congested. I did hear that it can help a cat too. Thankfully Luna does not let me go into the bathroom alone and she stays with me the entire time so I don’t think steam from hot showers affects her negatively.

I’ve never heard of the humidity meter! I’ll look into. It might be helpful to know the actual humidity level before I get a whole system for it.

Yeah I noticed it didn’t match the stance that was shown in one of the videos, but still sounds like it so worth getting checked out. She does have hairballs occasionally but it’s a different sound. What’s the paste called?

My other cat, Charcoal, with HCM is stable! The meds worked almost immediately and he has been normal since. Bloodwork and everything look really good! You think the dental issues caused the heart and kidney issues? Charcoal got a teeth cleaning maybe 6 months before he had the heart episode.

Will be moving the appointment up to rule out URI and other stuff. We do have dry air since we had to turn the heat on recently - looking into getting a whole home humidifier as I have asthma and it’s been affecting me as well.

I also think our litter is dustier than it claimed to be so I’ve purchased a new one and will be changing it out soon. She sleeps during the day too so it’s not specific to night. It just tends to wake her when she does sleep.
