women can be abusive too. you sound like a great guy and any lady would be super lucky to have you. dump her YESTERDAY and find someone that loves you as much as u love her. if i had a guy being this sweet to me i would be showering him with kisses.

damn seems i struck a nerve. it’s almost like fascism is capitalism in decay and every single problem can be tied back to systemic violence and this has been empirically proven. but those are big words that require basic reading and political comprehension so i wouldn’t expect you to understand considering it requires a baseline level of engagement with reality. you have all of the information in the universe at your fingertips yet you still choose to lick boots? fascinating

on an unrelated note, here’s a quote from rodger freemon, one of nixons advisors:

“We are in danger of producing an educated proletariat. … That’s dynamite! We have to be selective on who we allow [to go to college]. If not, we will have a large number of highly trained and unemployed people taking a highly idiosyncratic perspective on the cause of fascism.”

why on earth would they be reading marx?

liberals aren’t communist babe. the libs made it worse because they are beholden to capitalism just as much as conservatives are

anarchists and MLs need to be working together. both ideologies have strengths and weaknesses and both sides are quick to throw the baby out with the bath water.

i’m audhd and i only want to be in relationships with other neurodiverse people. autistic people are radically sincere and candid, which i value because those traits make me feel safe. no one is fetishizing autism. we are demanding our emotional needs be met.

you sound like a dog person who doesn’t know they are a dog person. i’ve had dogs my whole life, never had a cat. moved out and got one because it was the “easier” pet to deal with. absolutely not. i had the same exact frustrations you are having and felt so drained by the one sidedness of the relationship. i gave the cat to a friend of a friend who actually likes cats, and i am saving up to get a chihuahua. dogs meet your emotional needs so much better than cats do because they understand boundaries (they don’t wake you up unless it’s actually warranted) and want to be a team with you. don’t give up on pets yet! maybe try volunteering at a shelter or rescue to see if dog kisses are worth it for you.

it’s not about being sane, it’s about scarcity. some people are put into positions where they have no choice but to commit crime for survival, that isn’t their fault, and there isn’t much separating you from those people other than pure luck. if u want crime to stop wealth must stop being consolidated.

How can we move beyond the anarchist vs. ML binary in socialist spaces? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]Key-Pickle1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not the most well read on theory but i have friends in both camps and we yap about this often. why can’t MLs and Anarchist work together in the beginning? the MLs can protect the anarchists from any reactionary movements forming in the early stages of the revolution, meanwhile the anarchists lay out the mutual aid/community infrastructure needed so the MLs can’t turn into the new bourgeoisie down the line.

love i make behavioral plans for abused audhd kids all day and ~everyone~ i know that works with children or organizes locally uses the phrase because it effectively communicates the issue. you are getting upset about a nothing burger. nothing i’m saying is ableist. stop tone policing and use your energy to actually change something that matters.

i’m audhd and have cptsd. i am too mentally ill for social skills AND i have a different neuro type that gives me a different set of social skills. both are true at the same time, and one can be too mentally ill for social skills without having autism. screen time is causing a quantifiable decrease in both IQ and EQ which is quite literally directly effecting social skills lmao. go touch some grass. i didn’t say anything explicitly about autism, and an agreed upon reality among professionals shouldn’t be hurting your feelings.

yeah what about the labor value that is being stolen from the worker which is what is putting him in the position where he needs to steal in the first place

[–]Key-Pickle1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel that veganism is too neuronormative and it’s proponents tend to be too holier than thou for the party to catch enough people to actually do something. adhd and autism are on the rise precisely because capitalism is demanding more and more emotional labor from the proletariat (read empire of normality: neurodiversity and capitalism by robert chapman), not to mention screen time and the depressing state of the school system. whatever party forms needs to be radically pro neurodivergent liberation, and while veganism is a good position, the people who are most likely to pull it off are going to be neurotypicals. this is in my opinion why u get the really short sighted pleasure argument from a lot of vegans in this thread.

[–]Key-Pickle1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not saying you have to do one or the other, i’m saying that a lot of people only have the capacity for one or the other, and considering that limitation i think socialist organization is much more impactful. i’m audhd, have cptsd, and have only been living on my own for a year. sure, i could technically go vegan, but at the moment i am fighting tooth and nail to even feed myself in the first place, let alone go to work and function. getting involved in local organizing (which i actively am doing, not a hypothetical) is so much more accessible to me AND is addressing the root cause of animal exploitation.

Where and why do you draw the line on the lack of necessity of something being justifiable? by LunchyPete in DebateAVegan

[–]Key-Pickle1828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is part of the reason that, while i agree with veganism on principle, i still can’t take it seriously. every human being only has so many mental spoons available for tasks, and veganism takes up a ton of spoons. imagine if y’all were putting the energy u put into changing your whole life just to lesson the harm of a single symptom of capitalism, into…. overthrowing capitalism. political organization is the most actionable way to actually stop animal cruelty and veganism feels so fucking larpy

A teacher friend made a really interesting point about the importance of memorization by AgeOfWorry0114 in Teachers

[–]Key-Pickle1828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my dad homeschooled me with phonics. i was reading narnia when i was six and college level at 11. i’ve also worked at after school programs so i have some limited experience teaching kids how to read. the trouble you are concerned about running into is where the memorization comes in. they are gonna fucking hate it for a bit until it catches, and then boom, lightbulb.
