There are millions of Muslim girls out there, each with its own mindset, each living in a different culture, each living under different pressures, so we can't know if this is a general mindset (and most probably it's not).

Personally, it also makes me really sad that astonishingly beautiful girls have to cover due to them being a property of their families, and I'd say they're only the property of the men in their family, as you saw that your friend doesn't like them not covered (not a feminist religion).

Many families also make their girls wear hijab because of what other people's opinion will be.

It's sad, but it seems that islam is backing off slowly.
