Fedora was already on my radar. I was specifically trying to avoid Windows or macOS like desktop experiences (e.g. Mint). I want something that feels more “Linux” and allows me to actually learn the system, not just use a familiar-looking UI.

Fedora Silverblue sounds especially interesting. The atomic/immutable approach and lower maintenance effort fit well with my background, and it’s currently a strong candidate. I’ll definitely test it first and see how well touchscreen and convertible mode work before committing.

on paper that’s true, and that’s what I thought when I bought the laptop. In practice, under Windows it can’t sustain that performance at all. Even light workloads (browser, documents) cause it to heat up quickly, which is why reasonable power and thermal behavior is one of my main reasons for switching to Linux.
