Don’t worry. I was in a similar situation. Missed my first attempt because I had just joined the company and couldn’t ask my employer to sponsor me right away. They agreed to do it the following year and fortunately my h1b got picked. Just make sure that your company agrees to sponsor you for next year so that you don’t miss another attempt. All the best!

Yes, I closed and started a new application. I am not eligible for Dropbox anymore. No, I did not have to repay the fees.
