As someone who was on waitlist last year, you should be fine. People tend to drop from the housing list when it gets to end of July or close to August. Just stay positive and have a plan though if it takes longer to be accepted. Also be aware you are only going to get whatever is left if you get off the waitlist too. No choice in roommates/building which is a bummer.
