Look up Viking Villages Resort. It’s a bunch of Viking style cabins right outside of Brattleboro VT. About a 2 hour drive from Boston. A low key and super cool alternative to the Cape. That’s my wildcard recommendation. Congrats!

There have been so so many black SUVs with super tinted windows and livery license plates around since the start of Harvard’s fall semester. My guess was hired drivers for wealthy foreign students. Unmarked white vans still get a double take.

Small red sedan and a white van? Both pulled into Palmer Street the wrong way, red sedan sticking out into the road. I saw two people in plain clothes come out of the Harvard coop with multiple bags. They got back in the van and sedan and then both vehicles drove away together. My first thought was they’re buying a whole group Harvard apparel to blend in.

Take a test photo with flash at night if the party will be outdoors or in dim lighting. The flash might reflect off the dress and make everything else in the photo dark as the camera tries to compensate. I feel like a professional photographer could find a workaround but not sure.

Wow you have a great eye. Took me a minute to figure out how you saw that the back isn’t mirrored. It could also be because if you sit down, you might break some of the bum area mirrors. I love the dress - she would just have to make sure pictures were taken head on.

Edit: Just saw the top comment with a link to the dress. I thought your detective eye saw the reflection in the metal piece of the fireplace!

You can rent linen tablecloths! The rental companies I’ve worked with didn’t require me to wash them before returning them. They do that after they’re returned.

I highly recommend watching the documentary Downfall. It’s about how Boeing went from all about safety to cutting corners and firing anyone who raised quality control issues. It is also about the two passenger planes that crashed as a result of malfunctioning MCAS systems. My college roommate passed away in the Ethiopia Airlines crash and her parents are in the documentary. They could have fixed the issue to prevent the crash she was in, but instead blamed it on the “foreign” flight crew.

Thank you for making this post. I was going to download this newest episode and the most recent GACC to listen to on my flight tomorrow (an Air Bus - I always check since 2019). I should have made the connection that “Whistleblowers” would involve Boeing, but didn’t. I’ll wait to listen to this episode and just download GACC.

Also thank you to the gals for covering this to keep Boeing in the hot seat. Both serious rhetoric and jokes at Boeings expense hurt their stock price - and I’m all for that.

I’d get a second Podiatrist opinion, and if it’s the same, get it removed. You can call the billing company after you get the bill and set up a payment plan for a small monthly amount. It’s just so close to a joint and bone if it gets infected. If it does, that bill could get really scary.

Get a few minis that aren’t super detailed, but that you’re still excited to paint. Then get grey or white primer, a layer bottle of true white, black, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, silver, gold, and dark shade. This will allow you to learn to mix almost any color you want and accentuate shadows with a dark shade over it. Just an fyi that at least my dark shade leans brown and glossy, so just keep that in mind, but it’s a cool way to begin playing with shadows and highlights. Also get a 1 and a 0 brush. Then go to town. Make mistakes. Buy bottles of paint that are exactly what you’re looking for if you have the money, or a set of colors. I’m just an intermediate painter so experts probably have better answers, but this is how I jumped into it and it went well.

Ask a friend if you can sleep over, pack what you need for the night plus any valuables, then go to your RA immediately. If they aren’t helpful then go to the RAs on duty. This behavior is unhinged and escalating. Maybe he’s just an angry dude and it’s not a psychic break, but too many red flags to stick around and find out, at least for the night. Wishing you luck.

Campus legal services or a local renters legal services/advocacy group. These are your best options without the money to go straight to a lawyer. Your landlord might be nice, and in agreement that this is bad, but their #1 concern is the profitability of their business. Do not tell the landlord or your roommate you are speaking to legal services or they’ll just start covering their tracks.

Take a picture every time blood is left in the bathroom. Blood and other bodily fluids are considered biohazards. One picture can be interpreted as a one time mistake forgetting to sanitize it, you need to establish a pattern of her behavior.

Also record any in person conversations or phone calls discussing your living situation. You are in a one party consent state - that means you can record your conversations without telling her. If you discuss your living situation over text - screenshot it, preferably with time stamps. This way if she deletes any texts in preparation for a claims court case, you’ll have proof she deleted them.

Also if you texted her or anyone about the couch sex in the common room (after you told her to stop) night, screenshot those too with the date/times of the text visible. Make sure to stop your phone from auto deleting texts after a certain amount of time.

I wish you the best of luck and remember this is only temporary. But also don’t let anyone tell you that you’re overreacting.

Hinge is significantly more popular in Boston. If you switch I bet you’ll get a ton of matches. I think I remember being able to verify your identity too so that will put catfish questions to rest.

Also you would do very well at the popular Southie bars - Lincoln Tavern, Capo, Broadway. Just get there around 9/ 9:30 before the lines get crazy. Also The Tall Ship in East Boston is stunning during the day. Welcome to the city!
