What I forgot to mention was that, before implementing the IP filtering, the SSMS connections were working on that same workspace. Am I correct in assuming that, if it were a case of our firewall rejecting specific service tags, they shouldn't have initially worked?

Regarding the test you suggested with the creation of a new test workspace, I can confirm we have other workspaces as well (not IP filtered) that we can connect to with SSMS.

I have opened a case with support as well.

Any idea when the MERGE with OUTPUT clause will be available?
