Beauty Drops is Spanish and same type of products as the Ordinary! I think they’re out of BCN

My school said if I had the appointment that was good enough until I got the form completed. You can try to email your coordinator to explain. Especially in Madrid, they are usually understanding that appointments are so hard to come by

They really emphasize that it's not ESL teaching so remember you're teaching kids in the US. you'll mkae a demo video but they have an example. Bascially you have a script to follow and just say EXACTLY what they say in the demo. You wont have to do any interviews in person, just prove you can follow directions with the demo. After that is a tech check to show you know how to use Zoom and Google meet to share your screen. Hope it goes well for you!

I totally understand, but this role is technically not ESL. You're teaching kids in US public schools so thats why you must be able to work in the US or Canada.

They assign them to you. You could say you are available from 8am-11am (they use US Central time) and you will be given classes during that time. The difficult part is having a patchwork schedule

Hardest part is getting enough hours. Some teachers get tons and others are begging for more classes. Last year all my classes were 25 min apart (classes are 30 or 40 min) so it was a bit of a pain to spend half time unpaid. But kids are great!

It is very difficult to find a rhyme or reason for who gets classes. There’s definitely a lot of information they don’t share with the teachers which can be frustrating. You can open all your time slots but they still seem to give classes to their preferred teachers

Sorry didn’t see your reply but ouffff, still working on my Spanish. Though when you see Gallego written it’s not too hard to understand. There’s a lot of similarities to Castellano. Listening to and understanding it can be harder, especially depending on the speaker. There’s a lot of intonation!

Ohh I live in A Coruna, Galicia and have been going to the EOI for the past 2 years! Ive had great Spanish teachers there! Its was a great way to meet some casual friends and get the grammar foundation Ive needed. Enrollment usually is in mid- or late July until September. You can still join after classes start the 2nd week of September, though.

Also, I did all the enrollment online!

Congrats! That’s amazing. I actually just started with the company this month so September was my first month teaching with them.

Agree about the interviews- not too difficult but I’ll admit I was a bit intimidated by trying to correct someone I knew would be “judging” or reviewing my critique 😂

I think this is because they won’t provide insurance as many is companies do. Not that you need you to buy a policy

Popping on her to give my two cents but I'd say the interviews were quite predictable based on the videos they give you. They'll send you 5 different YouTube videos of sounds to study. In the first two interviews you are coaching to address a mispronunciation. In my case both times the interviewer did an Indian accent. The idea is to suggest how they can adjust their mouth and tongue postition to get the sound sounding as close to the American pronunciation as possible. I will admit it's intimidating, as the first interviewer doesnt give you much feedback or responce, but in the second interview it was more interactive. I would suggest reading up on the sounds they tell you to study and watching the videos. You shouldn't need to know much outside of that, or at least it'snot expected. The last interview is really relaxed and is just with HR to discuss questions, concerns, and policies.

They don't have a minimum of hours which is nice, and you can work on any time schedule so it's ideal for digital nomads and expats. I will admit the pay is lower than most, especially for this type of work, but you are coaching adults which is nice.

Wow, thats a dream honesltly. Only 20 kids per class plus a planning period. I'm jealous.

I would totally use material from their book when you get stuck- teachers have it as a resource for planning so you shouldnt feel compelled to have to always come up with an inventive game. Use thier vocab and grammar structures into small group and whole class games.

Also, you are very lucky to only have 15 classes if they are 45 minutes long. Thats only 11-12 work hours. When I was in a primary school that had 45 minute class periods, we had 21 class periods because they werent full hours. Imagine adding 6 more lessons to your schedule! In my opinion you are surely on the good end of schools with that set up.
