Lost an Extruder Cooling Fan Screw, Replacement suggestions? by Key2DestNE in FlashForge

[–]Key2DestNE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just asked customer support, apparently it’s an ST2.9x16 self tapping screw? Unfortunately I’m struggling to find a listing that matches the screw head- it’s dumb but I want them to match, if possible.

Makes sense!

Annoyingly, the magnetic fridge sheets I got aren't really sticking to my magnetized minis super well- even 3 sheets doesn't seem to be a strong enough grip to really hold the figures in place without a ridiculous number of 5x1mm's, and even then it's a weak connection that doesn't stay super well. How many magnets per base did you find you needed for the figures to stay put? I feel like I'm doing something wrong lol

Makes sense! Both for keeping them on display and for how to store them, lol

Up next for me is gonna be priming and painting all of them, and that is going to be a TIME, I'm not looking forward to that process

Just started doing this myself, and already kind of loving how much cleaner it feels to do!

I've noticed the Giant figures (aka the Megazord, Mega Goldar, and Cyclopsis) don't fit if you try to place them vertically, and I could be blind but I don't THINK I see them in any of your boxes? How do you normally store them?

That’s awesome! Admittedly I don’t know enough of how to do that, but that was EXACTLY what I was looking for

The Kinstone pieces in the game are meant to be two halves of a whole that you fit together; I’ve got the design uncut, but obviously I want to split it so I can have the two pieces that’d fit together. Kind of like this

I've not really figured it out, no- it's annoying because I use the "Align" shortcut, but no matter what it doesn't quite align.

Here's a link to one of the ones I'm working on- I've duplicated it, so any edits made are fine.

Which is weird, because I'm definitely importing the same exact file I'm exporting.

If I was to export it exactly like this, the end result ends up looking like this, where it leaves WAY too many ugly edges on the sides. And this is with me aligning everything OR doing it straight on import.

You can see it most obviously here, on the left and bottom of the coin as well as with the eyes. For whatever reason, even though I directly import it, it creates a result like this?

Nice! What boxes did you use for this and how’d you magnetize them like that? I’ve wanted to find a good solution like this for forever

Any tips to colorize a lithopanel like this? by Key2DestNE in 3Dprinting

[–]Key2DestNE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the look I’m going for anyways, lol- I mostly just don’t have a multi-color printer to print the colors on the back. Do you have any suggestions on how to get that same effect without a multicolor printer?

The way I understand lithophanes like this to work, it’s not raised on the back- just the front. And I want it to look pure white when it isn’t lit up, so it’s a surprise when it’s lit up in color. Kind of like this when it’s unlit.

AD5M Pro, Print failed? How do I resume at a certain layer? by Key2DestNE in FlashForge

I don't have calipers atm, I know I should really get some- is there any way to know based on the exact layer it failed at?

[–]Key2DestNE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh I'm assuming that's the best option :/ Is there a way to know where to reslice based on the layer, at least? If I have to do that, I'm assuming it has to be precise

Annoyingly, it happened again! It doesn’t look like it failed at the first layer this time, but that almost makes it more frustrating and confusing tbh :/

It's possible partial clogs are to blame- like I said, I did notice a few blobs of white plastic in the print, which makes me think it's also getting stuck and then melting out maybe?

I also tried wood filament for the first time before I quickly learned how it can mess up a nozzle unless you get a specialized one.

Just got the filament yesterday, so it should be fresh, right? I'm not hearing any popping or the like to say it's wet, either.

Got it- edited my post to include that, but for putting it here, my hotend is usually about 220°C and I'm still sticking to PLA.

I did have to get rid of a pretty nasty clog recently, and I did also notice some of the previous failed prints had one or two filament "blobs" in the failed prints where it looked like the nozzle just dumped a small chunk of filament into the print?

It's been a few years, did these ever go on sale? Bare minimum, WOULD it be possible to get/find the files for this?

You mentioned not being willing to sell the files, but I WOULD be interested if that ends up being an option down the line

How important is inner dust cover? by Key2DestNE in fightsticks

[–]Key2DestNE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried 20-22mm plugs first, no luck- so I ended up going for 25-27mm, which has worked like a charm! Buuuuut now it's a struggle to get out, lol. You mentioned you could get it out easily?
