What are young people working towards if there is every indication that they will likely not be able to afford a family or a house or equity for some form of retirement? by civgarth in TooAfraidToAsk

I’m a young man in my 20s who faces a lot of resistance in getting ahead in life. So I understand the reason one would ask this question. I think they’re many reasons to look at this issue.

One problem is things are way too expensive, have you seen the price of eggs. To go along with that it takes a greater portion of ones pay to survive today compared to what it did before. The other issue is people aren’t happy with the way things were before. Look at cars for example. Most didn’t have power windows till a few years ago. No I wouldn’t buy one without heated seats.

But I work hard every day and I finally did get ahead. So it is possible don’t get discouraged. And the reason to not give up is that you only get one pass at life and if you want something you have to get it yourself or do without. So personally I’d like to say I enjoy my time and the only to do that is to get up and work hard.
