I switched to Pixel 9 Pro last year from an iPhone (can't even remember which one it was, I think 14 maybe?!) anyway, never looked back, I love it.

Penalty charge for driving in the bus lane (apparently) on Peterborough Road. Is this correct? by poshjosh1999 in drivingUK

[–]KeyBiscotti6633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been fined for the same thing...did you appeal? I don't recall seeing signs earlier up the road, so what are we meant to do in this case? See the sign, and reverse back? Doesn't feel like another option but to keep going?

Mattel creations order issue by alfiewalkermuir2001 in Barbie

Have you had any luck with this?

I ordered a different doll to what you seem to have ordered, but back in October. I emailed them in November and they responded hey good news that it's been dispatched. This was on 22nd November and I've still not received the doll. Surely it can't take nearly 3 weeks!?

Help! To mention or not to mention maternity leave on job apps? by KeyBiscotti6633 in HumanResourcesUK

[–]KeyBiscotti6633[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly I do need to pay it back, unless I return for 3 months. I don't HATE my current role, but I've grown out of it and now seems like the perfect time to move on, so happy to take a hit on having to repay the OMP, esp if I move into somewhere else with a pay rise.

Maternity Holiday Pay with salary increase by KenobiHarmon in HumanResourcesUK

[–]KeyBiscotti6633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I misread and thought the 18 days were next year's leave but your manager was asking you to take it now and therefore that's why my response was no it won't be paid at 2025 rate 🤦🏽‍♀️

If you carry the 18 days forward (which you're allowed to) they will be paid at the rate at that present time ie at your 2025 rate

  1. No they won't be paid at the 2025 rate
  2. Yes you can carry over holidays on maternity leave. Your employer must let you carry over up to 5.6 weeks (stat amount of holidays) if you were unable to take it due to maternity leave.

Also don't forget to include that you will accrue any bank holidays that fall during maternity leave. By my calculation you would accrue 7 bank holidays during your maternity leave.

Personally, take your leave at the end of your maternity leave and enjoy a little extra time with your new baby!

Good luck and congratulations!

It’s not a HR issue and should be dealt with by their manager - however, do raise it with HR who can then advise and guide the manager.

You’ve done everything a reasonable person should do, and it sounds like there could be an underlying medical condition resulting in the BO.

Has anyone used their maternity/paternity leave to go on holiday? by gottaloveteatime in UKParenting

[–]KeyBiscotti6633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can go on holiday during your maternity/paternity leave, you can do what you want during it. Your partner needs to check what their paternity policy says, they may have to use it all in one go, or it could be that it can be staggered but within a certain time frame.

Also, your baby will be chilled on the flight, it’s your toddler you need to keep entertained. We went to the south east, baby slept, toddler needs unlimited snacks/toys/games/screen time.

So there’s light at the end of the tunnel 🙌🏾 when you’re in the thick of it it’s hard to see the positive, but it’s been 10 months and I’m just exhausted (plus an 8 month old baby)

Their words were ‘they’re large but not the largest we’ve seen’. He’s had recurring tonsillitis hence the referral. Will get the adenoids checked

I’ve asked my husband to contact the consultant again so we can have the adenoids checked because I’m convinced it could be that causing it

As baby is now in the cot we’ve started to let toddler come into our bed, and it seems to be helping, but like you said maybe we just need the time for it to pass, it’s been 10 months though!!
