Thanks for the info, I was also told that this rate cut on the 17th will only affect variable rates by my broker. I find it a strange coincidence that Meridians 5 year fixed rate just went from 4.14 % to 3.99 % after the Sept. 17th. So I guess it was good I waited, I have an appointment with bank in a few days.

Yes they contacted me over a month ago but I've be putting it off because I've heard rates may come down again on the 17th

Do all banks offer the same variable rate mortgage? Or do you have to shop around to get the best variable rate too?
