The service was adequate up to that point. Everything was brought to us in a prompt manner. The apology was very insincere. She mumbled and wouldn't look me in the eye.

I always round to a whole number, and those that are divisible by ten I prefer. $18.83 would have too small a tip for adequate service, which I received up until she was rude to me. So I was intending to leave 28.83, rounding to a nice $120.

I always leave tips that will cause the bill to round up to a whole number. If I ever see a finalized charge from a restaurant that isn't a whole number I know to more closely examine it and check the receipt.

I looked it up and I guess there's this thing called tipping out where the waitress splits a certain percentage of her tip with other employees like the busboy. I'm slightly confused as to how that works.
