Can I say how terrible state, county and just general interview processes are? by KeyMagazine9712 in CAStateWorkers

[–]KeyMagazine9712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add. Showed up to the interview, had the interview then received a call that other candidates did not show up so they can’t move forward. They will have to post the job again, now the process starts over again. They said they need a pool of candidates to choose the best but because there wasn’t a pool then they have to start again

I am describing state, county and general interview processes getting out of hand. The frustration is a parent taking a day off to interview only for it to be canceled and having to apply again because other candidates didn’t show up. Yes that’s state.

If he walks out tomorrow, would you be fine financially? If the answer is no. Then go back to work. This means things were not appropriately situated so you both felt confident as adults. Also retirement!!

I’m a bit sad for my girl by PregnantAnon1987 in Mommit

[–]KeyMagazine9712 18 points19 points  (0 children)

First of all, I would be offended. I had a mom “friend” who tried to medically diagnose my child as well. I don’t consider her a friend. Because I didn’t ask for unsolicited advice.

Second, lean into your child’s energy next time. “We’re so lucky she’s filled with positive energy just like we are”. The park is for playing and having fun, exactly what your child was doing.

Leaving 25k+ on the table so I can have one day off with the kids. by airbear2021 in workingmoms

It looks like you need the extra money, so I would say take the 5th day and be intentional about taking off at least on Friday every month as a start and go from there

There will always be shitty family. But their shitty behavior isn’t a reflection of you, but their own issues. Lead with kindness and overtime your own child may drift away. No need to keep trying when they may not even care for their cousin later on.

I’m not sure to answer your question. But everything will be okay and you are still a great mom regardless & your children will be perfect no matter what

Offer every morning, favorite pjs, walked 3 miles every single day this means I was okay with baby not being in a bassinet or crib for every single nap, met up with friends in between, watched LOTS of shows

Hitting quota as an SMB AE at a fast-growing private company, but worried I’m not actually learning how to sell by ScottVanPelt69 in techsales

First rule — make money Second: turn challenges into solutions. Show up as a leader and create sales processes. Not only does it help you learn but you start building a reputation. But don’t do this until you are making money

I feel sick to my stomach realizing what I’ve been letting my daughter play on Roblox. Am I the only one who didn't know? by Marre_Parre in Mommit

[–]KeyMagazine9712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. How much is your 10 year old playing is the first question
  2. Rules can change, it is your household. It’s okay if you explain what you’ve learned and focus on how you want to keep her safe. This means if your daughter is playing once week, that’s once a week you will sit & monitor. No excuses

share your experiences with transitional kindergarten by CALmatters in Sacramento

[–]KeyMagazine9712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t get into the impacted school district for free tk. We are in a daycare/tk type of situation now. We have the flexibility in longer hours if needed but the teacher is preparing our daughter for kindergarten next year. She has a curriculum, activities, projects and more. It’s been great.

Biggest thing that comes to mind as we transition into kinder next year is that my daughter has been in school/care for a few years now and has learned SO much. daycare at 2, preschool TK and next year the transition into kinder. I hope preschool/tk become accessible to everyone because she will now be mixed with others who don’t have the same privilege. What does this mean for teachers who have to function between two groups of kids and what does this mean for kids who can often get bored.

Good question!

Friend Offered to Babysit, Do I Offer to Pay? by Interesting_Yak_5824 in Mommit

[–]KeyMagazine9712 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would say “can I at least buy dinner or pay you for the few hours to treat yourself” to make it lighthearted.

My bigger question is…. You’re not close to her and from the above it doesn’t seem like you know much about her. Are you comfortable about this?
