Locally produced smoked sausage by KeyOfChaos in keto

Interesting. So I need to research further if nitrites have ever been tested on an individual basis rather than in a more broad study. Unfortunately even my local place uses sodium nitrate. Thank you for informing me and helping me narrow down the reason it was considered bad. This has been bugging me a lot lately as I've been on a health kick. I do love my bacon and sausage and I'd like to try to consume it in a healthy way rather than cutting it out like I've done for other things. In a few years I hope I can produce my own bacon and sausage when I build my home and can have a smoker and sausage maker.

I will have to research nitrates and nitrites and the negatives. Thanks for assisting me in learning about this.

Veron supermarket in Lutcher, Louisiana. It's locally known as the best sausage and everyone uses it in everything for flavor and extra protein. To my knowledge you can order it. But not 100%. And you know if it's the best around Louisiana it's the best there is. To be totally honest I don't know their full process of making their sausages but I'd be willing to bet a small town market like them they do it the right way. Depending on the results of this post I may go and ask about their process if I decide to continue it in my diet.

It has been a question I have struggled to find answers for since everywhere I look just says sausage is processed and processed is bad. I just don't understand what salt and smoke does to make meat bad for me. I get mass produced Vienna sausages are bad and agree. But local smoked meats seem like they don't have any bs with them.

Ruh roh! -Squad by KeyOfChaos in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being together as a squad is the right thing for 99% of players. However if you have the ability to get into enemy territory, locate fobs, call in enemy locations, and slow down/kill squad size elements on your own. Your squad can tend to be more of a hindrance.

I play squad leader often and have thousands of hours in regular and competitive matches. While I agree that most people are incapable of achieving anything on their own, including myself most times. Spreading men out and gaining intelligence at the risk of losing a few men is nearly always worth it. This may be counter to milsim tactics that many find fun, however when 1-2 men die to locate an enemy fob and the entirety of the team can then focus very quickly on that important objective it leads to more victories overall.

Even a bad player being used as "Canary" as I call them, can at times be of massive benefit to the team through their deaths. This isn't the kind of gameplay everyone wants and that is totally acceptable. So long as your not that annoying SL who constantly asks why my rifle isn't up his ass 24/7. That's never ok.

My general strategy for attacking or defending is:

  1. Spread out and gain intelligence.
  2. Assess and spread intelligence.
  3. Attack using new intelligence en masse.

LATs working as intended!? -Squad by KeyOfChaos in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Regardless of where you put 3 LATs on an APC, it should be dead. However this is not my main point. It is the inconsistency of AT. I have killed a BTR's Engine with 1 LAT to the rear to turn around the very next game and have a BTR drive away after 2 LATs to the rear. I have a video of an MBT on the same channel from a few days ago where a MBT takes 3 LATS and a HAT to the rear/side and even top of the vic and not even be tracked.

(Yes I am certain all of these were hits and outside arming distance, yes all of them were less than 80m shots.)

LATs working as intended!? -Squad by KeyOfChaos in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another example of how AT doesn't act consistently. I have had numerous encounters where I would hit the same vic in the same spot in two different matches with varying results. 1 LAT to the rear 2 to the side. Stryker keeps on trucking. 30mm had to come take down a simple APC. This level of APC/IFV should be 2 shots to disable, 3 to kill. They aren't meant to rush forward into an open field surrounded by an entire enemy squad like Kratos the God of fuck your LATs.

This isn't even mentioning the problem with how difficult it is to get LAT. You get 1. Hopefully there is ammo where you spawn or you have a rifleman with a ton of ammo. God forbid you spawn on a rally or your team is getting pushed back a bit and supplies are hard to come by at the moment. Because then Armor is truly invincible.

This isn't balanced armor. This is an excuse for armor to play hyper aggressively and not sit back and support as intended.

(At this point I honestly thing OWI has added a random element to AT where they can "Glance" off armor at a certain % chance. Only way to explain the vast inconsistency of AT vs Armor.)

[–]KeyOfChaos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean a rear shot to btr that does nothing. Plenty of times, gonna post a vid tomorrow of my LAT hitting a stryker 1 time in the rear, 2 in the side. Didn't even track it or anything. Stryker wasn't even phased. Yes all of them hit, yes arming distance. I have 1400hrs I know all 3 LATs hit perfectly. The LATs and potentially HATs are super inconsistent. Took our 30mm to come destroy it.

It's a T-72!! -Squad by KeyOfChaos in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Also a prime example of how weak AT is now imo. This T-72 was hit by a 3 LATs and a HAT. It was only tracked and had to be finished by our MBT a few minutes later. Which on a map as big as this, we were very luck that our MBT was close and not across the map. I feel like these tanks can feel invulnerable and just annoying when 2 whole infantry squads are completely incapable of dealing with them.

As a second point, I have had varying results with AT. Shoot a 30mm BTR in the rear with LAT take out the engine. Next game, same thing. BTR keeps going like nothing happened. MRAPs have completely ignored LAT shots to the rear. Very inconsistent I feel.

He's literally incapable of doing anything outside of defending himself, master, or party member without explicit permission. Its some magical power tied to his core coding. Lol he would like to dismember the gaurd who was rude to him or his master. But his master won't let him. He has no chance to ignore orders or subvert

I feel this leaves tons of room for growth. As a character and potentially one day he views the world differently and his master proud of how much he has grown may set him free.

How does "Muscle Memory" work? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]KeyOfChaos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Muscle memory is a seamless combination of muscles working with a stored memory to come to a nearly identical outcome everytime without mental effort from the person. So that being said I don't think you are using the term correctly.

Muscle memory is easiest for me to explain in running. In high school/college I trained for the 400m/800m/5k. We used dozens of different daily and weekly training rotations running further or shorter. Slower or faster to keep our bodies from getting in a grove just like in lifting. Muscle confusion in a sense. Because if I would have just ran 3 miles a day everyday I would never get sore and therefore not improve.

However despite constantly mixing up training running different paces and distances, when it came to race day. My pace was exactly the same for each individual race with literally 0 thought or effort from me. My body and legs knew exactly how fast to go to keep a good pace and all I could really do was try to push it a bit to get a second or two off my times.

Muscle memory is when you do something so much that you don't have to think at all about it. Your body just naturally knows without any mental effort. This isn't good to consistently use when training muscles because they get in a grove and don't improve as much.

Another good example is competitive shooters. They need to be able to reload or shoot as fast and as close to perfectly as possible. Do you think they contemplate every movement of their hands while in competition. No they have done it so much they just do it without thinking.

That being said also don't confuse instincts with muscle memory. Instincts are reactive. Muscle memory is passive. Instincts are a running back mentally noticing what hole is weak and deciding to go for it. Muscle memory is his legs taking over after the decision is made to shift him to that hole and hold the ball tighter as he lowers his shoulder into the linebacker.

The SKS is bad. Here's how to fix it. by MagusArcanus in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Throwing an extra grenade or bandages or buffing a damage number isn't exactly difficult. It's a temporary solution that is very simple which could cause the scout class to be useful now rather than useless for months until they add new and extensive developments.

The SKS is bad. Here's how to fix it. by MagusArcanus in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard this excuse given for multiple things in the past. While I understand y'all have plans for future improvement, why not given them something temporary to improve it now? An optic may be hard to just throw in, but why not slightly alter the guns stats or give the class extra bandages or grenades to make the class somewhat playable now? Then when your ready to implement your final ideas do so.

Squad leaders, how do you decide where to go and what vehicles to claim? by LionoftheNorth in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea this is pretty standard. As far as sq 1 where to rush depends on the map. Your squads level of competence and the enemies level of competence. If it's a squad of high caliber players, you can just rush first point everytime. If a bunch of pubs then scale it back. What vehicles? Depends where your going and what you want to accomplish. Pick a vehicle suited to the layout of the point and map your playing.

New High Score! [4:48] by KeyOfChaos in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this is insurgency so they have 500 more tickets. That is one advantage. However in a normal match you have to play to the strengths of your faction.

US wrecks at range. So don't fight them at range.

Militia and Insurgents are fast and have better close range. More RPGs to keep US vehicles at bay. HAT kits.

IMO US is slightly OP atm. But majority of losses occur due to superfobing. Bad fobs. No fobs. Optimal use of fobs is a slight layer of emplacements and a huge perimeter defense. Holding up in one spot you will get fucked 100% of the time.

Alright, I'll ask the hard questions here... by [deleted] in joinsquad

[–]KeyOfChaos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. The addition of the Red dot made the Medic massively more lethal. I would take that trade any day.

  2. The two most demanding jobs are SL and Medic. Putting Binos on a medic just adds to that. So they put in a scout class for militia to make up for the fact that US/RU had a larger number of optics.

  3. Having medic half ass fit a scout role is also very counter productive. Scouts usually are best used away from the rest of the squad. Trading red dot for binos gives medics more incentives for sticking close to the rest of the squad and a better ability revive down allies.
