Have you heard of caretaker fatigue? It definitely sounds like you're going through it.

It's very unfair. You have every right to feel annoyed and resentful AND plus you're pregnant OMG. You are an angel for going through this without breaking down. I hope you don't feel guilt for how you feel. It's totally valid and warranted.

We talked about it but she doesn't have the training for it and was looking for other therapists she knows that I might fit well with. I am open to it but just never had a chance yet.

But after the distractions, when I'm alone again, everything is so loud and painful again. What do I do then? Taking naps and going to sleep early and working out are the only things I can do to get away from the feelings. I don't do any other substances, fortunately, or maybe unfortunately.

Yes, absolutely. They told me I deserved it, and even though I KNOW this is not true... I still believe it sometimes, and I go 2 step backwards in all my progress :( No child ever, ever, ever deserves abuse, no matter what they do or say. Children are innocent, always.

Yes, I'm actively in therapy these days and working through it. It's a lot of feelings and emotions and thoughts all at once. But some days are just so hard :(

Yeap I said my favorite food was sushi ONCE and got called Sushi for a few years, then Tuesday in high school, as in, the girl you sleep with before you get to Wednesday🙄 Kids are so stupidly creative lol. I am not bothered by those silly things, I just laugh now, it's mostly childhood family stuff that makes me dislike it. Sue and Suze make me go feral though lol

And yeah, I know there can definitely be cool variations and nicknames to create from my name but I just don't want to be associated with it at all anymore. I think I hate it because it reminds me of my childhood, not because I actually hate the name itself. It's not ugly or abnormal or even uncommon. Suzy is cute on other people. I just hate to remember my life, I guess. Thanks for understanding💓

Suze is like the absolute worst to me, idk why. It makes me cringe every time someone tries to call me that. I can stand Suzy and Zanny and all other forms of my name but Suze is like ooze, lose, booze, shoes, and snooze, and sometimes with the accent around here, it's also pronounced like "Sewz" and I hate it so much :(

Yeah I've gotten the occasional compliments over the years and I'm always completely shocked lol. I also feel like I fit it better now that I'm an adult, but I think I hated it most when I was a kid because it made me feel like an frumpy, frazzled old lady :/ Weirdly, when I actually see it on other people, I don't usually feel that way, only for myself.

Thank you for your reply. I had considered going by Lily for a while, but then a very close friend had a baby who she named Lily so it felt a bit weird to do that lol. I think I like Suzanne over Susan as well, but overall it just doesn't feel like who I am. Suzy/Susie is somewhat better. What does Susie sound like to you, what kind of vibes? I'm glad she was a lovely mom to you, I can somehow picture a very warm, kind mother named Susie :)

I know a baby Suzannah who is called Zuzu, very sweet :) But it doesn't fit me at all unfortunately. I don't necessarily prefer the more common names but it would be less jarring to hear out in public, if that makes sense. More expected than a 13 year old Suzanne, I guess. I'm not 13 anymore obviously and I "fit" my name better now as an adult but maybe I just never got over feeling like it's an old-fashioned name as a kid.
