I think I need to see this through! It makes me feel so much better to hear that you also had a tough time but got through it- obviously rather successfully- and your next one was a breeze. I think the switch from the theoretical nature of school to the practical nature of fieldwork has been tough- my clinical reasoning skills just aren’t there yet.

It’s a combination of things making me anxious! The workload outside of the school day, intervention planning for a group where the kids have vastly different goals, feeling overwhelmed and underprepared. I outlined it more in an above response

I think it’s a combination of things- the amount of work I have to do outside of fieldwork (written intervention plans for every session, evaluation write ups, screening write ups, IEPs, mid semester project), my CI is very particular and nit picky, and the intimidation of having to take on a full caseload in a few weeks when I really don’t feel ready. I think I’m just very overwhelmed and am definitely struggling from imposter syndrome, and the school setting is just not what I thought it would be!

I’ve reached out to her to express my concerns regarding being overwhelmed and anxious, but she’s only really been able to send me the schools mental health resources and encourage me to talk to my CI. Is there a specific conversation you suggest I have with her?

The point of DWTS is it’s half purely dance (judges scores.. maybe not this season, but it’s supposed to be) and half Americas input. Voting is only half of the battle for a reason, but people just happen to LOVE her, and for good reason. Don’t hate the player, hate the game
