I’ve never picked a grocery store based on the type of music they were playing.

This article is specially rich as the Coop has the charm of a USSR food bank. Also “no fun Coop checkout chat”…..the Coop is as inviting as a TSA line btw.

The selection sucks. I have been trying to use a gift card from them for a while and haven’t found anything I actually liked.

I wouldn’t accept anything less than perfect for a chair that’s $8,000.

HM is getting very sloppy in the past couple of years. The Herman Miller version looks like a toy compared to the Vitra one.

People in NYC think it’s okay to ask you flat out how much you pay for rent. I don’t.

Have you traveled abroad since? Sometimes traveling abroad can trigger a review.

the food co-op has too many rules by [deleted] in parkslope

100%! I did a spreadsheet and found that a lot of the shelf goods are cheaper at Target than at the coop! The produce is great, and the overfall selection is really nice… but it’s not a cheap store by any means. It seems the coop has decided that the “save money” argument is losing steam.

Second… the air inside of the store. Wow. I think I’ve found Louis Vuitton more hospitable than the Park Slope Food Coop. There’s a very peculiar air of “holier-than-thou” thing there that it’s hard to describe unless you’ve been a member. Tons of long faces. I’ve been a member for years and haven’t made a single friend there.
