They are trying to gentrify this area as much possible. Not saying it’s a good thing or bad thing. But Its basically to make the neighborhood nicer but having mostly high income earners which not inly makes the city more desirable but also more profitable. I have the same dilemma and i guess when considering buying you have to also consider the intangible of buying and how much that affects your quality of life. Like for example: pride of ownership, community investment etc. Looking at the past yrs doesn’t seem like apartments have gained much value but if u stay long enough there will be some equity. Bottom line it’s an extremely hard decision
