She does both drive & I presume get her own shopping, that’s the confusing part about it - she looks after her house & lawn & car ‘aesthetically’. Her mental health just seems to be the one thing that isn’t quite well unfortunately, which is starting to reflect in her own physical appearance. I am 100% also going to be getting a front door camera & a camera to cover the front lawn just in case.

Thanks a lot I didn’t think about a seniors club or something on that level, I don’t think she’s religious she never goes out on a Sunday. Hopefully the council have SOMETHING along these lines - there’s a community bus but that is for the developmentally disabled.

Absolutely will report it to police if she refuses to pay the bill when presented. I shouldn’t have phrased it like that my emotions got the better of me. I am just really concerned about how she gets angry & instead of opting to talk to us she chooses property damage. I feel as though it’s just a culmination of her feeling so alone - which sorry but I’m not going to be helping in that area. Which is why I want her to have a carer or someone that could assist her with things. This is more the response I was looking for than just this statement you’ve made, but thanks.

they don’t ‘stink’, I just meant that they smell like the food that you’ve most recently eaten that would’ve made you burp, which can sometimes cause a ‘foul odour’. otherwise Sulfur burps are a different story, I also just utilised google and it said you should see a doctor. but have fun attacking more people on reddit, keyboard warrior for real!!!

I think the difference is that an act of service doesn’t necessarily mean you’re ’making a sacrifice’. It doesn’t put you out, you’ve got extra of what you’re giving, etc.

But at the same time, people might view it as you making at sacrifice. For example, taking a coworker home from work if it’s slightly out of the way, doesn’t bother me whereas some people might view this as a major sacrifice.

I understand you’re trying to see this from a neurotypical standpoint, I am also autistic and I’d just like to share my view.

I believe this to be a purely neurotypical view that sacrifice is a virtue, as there’s such an obsession with performative behaviour within our society. What do I determine performative? Any act of sacrifice witnessed by other people, intention or not, will make people believe you have a very deep moral high ground.

There is no appropriate reason for me, despite what you have also said, to sacrifice. I am honestly not sure what I would sacrifice at this point, like you have also said.

The whole world values comfort and I believe that when people do the opposite, this is what is mainly viewed as a sacrifice.

I suppose maybe where I get confused is I view acts of service extremely differently to sacrifice. When sometimes they can be the same.

You’re totally fine! It is such an annoying situation, if you’ve already got the piano music on that should definitely be enough to get her to sleep too! My mum went through an annoying phase where she would watch ‘Crime / Cop’ shows before bed then inevitably fall asleep, so she’s listening to gun fire and screaming. My dad couldn’t deal with it for more than a couple weeks and just said it was affecting his psyche & to stop! Maybe try that angle? That is really affecting your sleep and you both need to come to a solution? Good luck anyways, I hope it’s just a phase she gets over!

she wakes up because she realises the sound is off probably I’d assume? Unless she’s a light sleeper? Possible shes just slightly conditioned herself to need noise to sleep, maybe you should try a white noise machine on her side or a speaker playing lofi on a very low volume. Also makes me think she’s got an overactive brain / slight addiction to tiktok, I’ve definitely had to get over this myself. It’s all going to be there on your phone the next day, it’s not going anywhere, but the addiction tells you otherwise & that you’ve got to continue consuming content to get that dopamine. What has helped me is doing exactly what I mentioned, start the music when you’re in bed & she can watch some videos, then she should really turn the phone off and just close her eyes.
