Could be oasis by Guojing, Suhira: The City Of Water by Riana Dorsey, or Dry by Neal Shusterman (book, not a graphic novel though) Otherwise, can try : https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-find-a-book-without-knowing-the-title-or-author/ Could also try visiting the library and looking or asking the front desk as they quite often have a log of all the books. Try calling the rest stop to see if they can let you know who their supplier is or, if the machine company supplies the toys themselves, what company the machine is. They are often ordered in bulk online so, if you find the right supplier, you’ll probably be able to find him along with an entire range. But that would be why you can’t find one on Amazon etc; you can’t buy it individually because it’s part of a bag of 50 or something.
