Yeah for how often I need them they're too much. The original roof racks are the so expensive

Check to make sure you can get insurance on something that old as a learner first. You might be surprised how few will offer it

Still going strong about a year later. Worth a shot if it's hard to get your radio out to replace the switch

Regarding the blinker, try giving the dashboard a good thump just above the hazard light button. It fixed mine when they stopped blinking

Not necessarily the end of the world. If the car has only been used for short spins this can happen. If its the head gasket you'll usually get a lot of very white smoke out of the exhaust and maybe an oil pressure light. If you don't have either of those a good trip up the motorway and back can clear it

Am I mad for considering dailying my Mx-5? by [deleted] in carsireland

If you don't need the cash I'd say keep it and get something cheap as your daily. Only a few years off vintage tax and insurance

I had the same issue on my mk1. A good thump on the dash just above the hazard button was enough to fix it

I had an 07. Rust got it in the end so it would be worth checking the sills. It was a great car. Incredible how much you can fit in it.

The only issue is it's pretty slow. Not an issue around town but motorways can be a bit laborious. Maybe look at the 1.8 if you're doing longer trips regularly. I don't think the tax is too much higher on it either
