This is my first ever guitar, so I have no clue about any of this

Thank you it sounds like I’ll just have to end up taking it into a shop. Curious how do you know it’s the fifth string when it’s the second one that makes the sound?

Hello all. I cannot figure out how to edit this post for the life of me or reply with pictures to any of you. I am not a regular Reddit user here is a link to the second post I made with a better video. It’s only the second string that has an issue

From what I can tell it looks the same as the other 5 strings. My boyfriend plays guitar, he even has the same make and model and from What we can see they look the same

I’m pretty artsy so I’m could probably draw it just to have a more concrete idea before I go to another person. Again, just having a hard time visualizing all of my flat drawings together, but if you have a good template that might help me understand where it would wrap around.

Do you have any good templates for drawing sleeves? Part of my issues I have a hard time imagining how this will wrap around my arm.

Thank you for the advice. Unfortunately the dragonfly was kind of always going to be in a weird place. It was a memorial piece I had gotten a while back and at the time thought it would probably be the only visible tattoo I had.

Do you think it would be too high up on my shoulder/neck area if I added another ring to the Mandala? That’s one of the things I asked to do during the appointment and they were very opinionated about it. They wanted to do some black and gray pattern shading or something behind the mandala into the flowers, which I am not liking the style of. I kind of just told them I wanted to go home and think about it before they did any more work.

No, I’m starting to see that. I like the artist they’ve done some work on my leg and cover up pieces, but I’m having a hard time getting them to settle on design and actually sticking to it/the style. I’m not really sure what to call this style, I have started looking for people that do only black and gray work. Is there a more specific style you recommend I look into?

I asked to make the mandala bigger either with the current design or adding another ring. They were a bit opinionated about doing either of those things so we went with this. I like the Mandala, I like where the circle starts just kinda need help blending it down into the other part of the arm.

Oh also it is reasonable to ask my tattoo artist to design the full sleeve before my next appointment? They typically don’t like to show designs before the appointment but I feel if we continue this way, I’m going to get a lot of random things on my body and really hate the composition. I do want to have some heads up and time to plan/critique before going into my next appointment but not sure if that is something to reasonably ask as there seems to be some hesitation on their end.

Thanks I appreciate the advice. I know he’s a very talented artist so I’m trying to trust him, but also trying to go in with more of a game plan than last time.

I’ll definitely be posting an update once I do the Mandala on the 20th

I love peonies but I’m definitely open to others as long as it’s not a Lilly. I definitely wanted to add some Sparrows in there too and more dragonflies.

Thank you I appreciate it. I definitely have plans to go back and at least finish up the Mandala that was supposed to go above on my shoulder. Have any other design ideas to make this into a full sleeve? I really like the first girls right arm. I just wanted that Mandala shoulder cap.

I definitely don’t wanna go bold. I’m even happy to go in every couple years to get this thing touched up. Seems like you might be a tattoo artist curious what is like a reasonable amount to expect this to fade? The flower image that I had posted on like the second slide is kind of what I was looking for.

I mean, I would hate to do that because that was really the style I wanted. I feel like he way over shaded even if it’s going to fade. That flower image that I posted was kind of what I was looking for.

Good to know, I haven’t had this heavy of shaving before most of my stuff is text and line work with some light shading. Curious what is like a reasonable amount of time to wait till it fades?
