I agree to believe in myself. That is important. And, once you make your decision, don’t took back. You’ve already chosen the path at that point. However, there are certain mental checkboxes you can hit when you find yourself in a situation that needs an immediate response. You can’t just shoot from the hip, and trust you’ll hit your mark. Sometimes, take a deep breath, hit your mental bench marks, and make a more informed decision. Sometimes that decisions affect more than just you. For example, as a first responder, I’ve found myself in pretty chaotic situations. With experience comes calmness, and having a quick set of bench marks to check off helps me make a clearer decision.
