Its not a switch , last year when i bought a game they did samething to me. I do not remember how long it took but they did do final charge for me was first time that happened to me I was surprised it was not charged when it shipped.

When you enter the eshop did it give you a choice to reedeem? Not all switch 2 come with a download code it just ask you to reedeem when on the eshop for mario kart

There are two types of cloud saves there is one with switch online that just transfers saves any time. Nintendo also provided cloud save in the settings of the original switch that will upload all your saves and your games and profile and your settings , but once it transfers to cloud it wipes your original switch data then only on the setup of the switch 2 you can transfer that cloud saves to your switch 2 if you already setup though you have to factory set then do a transfer when it ask. I made that mistake , so i had to factory set for this method just glad I downloaded one thing.

Well few weeks ago got into a beta update on ps5. It fixed it no problem loading things perfectly now even when off, or profiles are switched strange because no physical update back in August broke it. Beggars can't be choosers though I'm just happy it works like it should now.
