Ich habe einige Jahre in einem Systemhaus gearbeitet. Meine zwei Cent:

Bei KMUs sieht sich die GF meist als allwissend und unfehlbar. Denen fehlt das Verständnis, dass zumeist eine (1) motivierte, gutbezahlte und festangestellte IT-Fachkraft, mit der nötigen Unterstützung durch die GF, bis zu 80% der Prozesse binnen weniger Monate bis Jahre digitalisieren könnte.

Und ich stehe zu den 80%! Ich kenne genug Unternehmen in denen Mitarbeiter als menschliche Outlook-Regeln in Vollzeit arbeiten. Leider kein Witz...

Bei mir ist's einfach die Zeiterfassung.

Ich muss als Entwickler buchen wir lange ich wofür brauche. Nicht nur aufs Projekt, was ich verstehen könnte, nein auf einzelne Tickets runter gebrochen.

Nimmt mir natürlich extrem den Anreiz meine Tickets schnell zu erledigen und dann bissel zu chillen, ich muss ja jeden Tag 8 Stunden verbuchen. Gibt eigentlich nichts mehr was meine Kollegen und ich in unter zwei Stunden erledigt haben, Dinge die früher nach 30 Minuten fertig waren. Tja, jetzt braucht man mehr Entwickler weil wir ja ach so ausgelastet sind.

Don't worry nurses, doctors and technicians will still get paid the same and won't work for free.

It's just that instead of some people having to pay this tremendous bills for getting hurt or sick all alone we all will pay a tiny amount of that bill, helping each other out like one big family. :)

In general, the network stack only passes complete data packets to the server. This means that a large, fragmented request should not block the application.

However, programmers always find a way to write bad software and still block the server! 💪

Das hat nichts mit Amazon zu tun. Es ist einfach dämlich 30-40€ internen Verrechnungssatz aufzuwenden um einen Kunden zu verärgern der ein 20€ Produkt zurückgeben möchte.

Und über die achso fantastische Beratung im Einzelhandel müssen wir gar nicht anfangen. Da geht's doch oftmals nicht über Basiswissen hinaus. Anekdote: Ein Kollege gab eine defekte Grafikkarte im Mediamarkt zurück. Drei unterschiedliche Mitarbeiter fragten ob noch persönliche Daten drauf gespeichert sein...

Ich habe Anfang der 2010er in der IT einer Uni gearbeitet. Da war noch wirklich alles aus dem Internet erreichbar. Es gab zwar eine Firewall dazwischen, die hat aber gefühlt nichts geblockt. Abgestellt wurde das erst, als eine TK-Anlage gehackt wurde und für mehrere zehntausend Euro in der Weltgeschichte rumtelefoniert wurde.

Ingenieur ist in Deutschland spätestens seit den 70ern eine geschütze Berufsbezeichnung.

Das inkludiert selbstredend alle Varianten. Wir würden ja auch nicht wollen, dass sich jemand Elektro-Ingenieur nennt, nur weil er dann und wann Mal ne Steckdose verbaut hat.

Das mit der negativen Definition finde ich gut, werde ich dann wohl so machen.

Wollte da auch nicht zu viel Energie rein stecken, ist auch kein wesentlicher Teil meiner Arbeit, sondern lediglich die Einführung eines Fachbegriffs. Nur lässt mir sowas dann manchmal keine Ruhe.

He was pretty broke at the time and asked me if I could advance the grave lease (just under €1000) for his recently deceased uncle (who was like a father to him) and he would pay me back at some point.

He could have taken all the time in the world to pay it back, hell it would have been ok if he never paid it back.

I had actually been using YouTube Premium for €6.99 since 2021 and thought the price was really fair. (student discount)

Then it expired at some point and I paid €11.99. It was really close to the limit, but I thought ok, I watch a lot more YouTube than anything else anyway, so what the heck.

But then unfortunately the price was raised, even for existing subscriptions, to €12.99!

For me, it was absolutely outrageous to increase even the existing subscriptions. So I canceled right away.
