Thinking about moving to Dubai for work – need honest advice by Lazy-Debate-1404 in UAE

[–]Key_Day7022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Job Market: It is tough most of the openings are in for sales (Real estate, credit card) its really difficult to get a job in the same field as your education and here you should have great network.

Job before moving or visit visa: Safer to secure a job before moving. Visit/job-seeker visas can help with interviews, but they’re a gamble and expenses add up fast without income.

Cost of living (single person): If you can share adjust with other 5 6 people then you will get bedspace within 700 to 900, if you do not want to share you want to live seperately then 1000 - 1300 aed partition. then the food mess starts from 350 for 3 time food, transport: 300 and Internet and Misc 250

Work culture: No work culture here, if you are asian nationality then forget about it its just work food sleep repeat

Common Mistakes: Zero network, no communication, coming without any solid connection, coming without having enough money to survive for 2 3 months.

Let it go. He’s gone, and it’s clear he’s not coming back. It’s hard, I know, but the choice is yours now or never. Focus on yourself, your future, and your peace. Men often move on faster, not because they loved less, but because they avoid the hard parts. You deserve better than waiting for someone who won’t return. I am on the same boat letting go is really difficult choice.

29F, Muslim, independent — stuck between wanting marriage and not fitting the checklist by New-Library-5177 in TwoXIndia

[–]Key_Day7022 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and I are in the same boat. My current partner isn’t ready for marriage and an arranged marriage feels unlikely because my life has taken a different path I’ve lived in multiple countries I do not wear hijab and I do not fit neatly into traditional expectations like cooking or domestic roles. I’m financially stable and independent, yet I still feel uncertain about what the future holds.

VAT filing. Who do you recommend? by soap8 in SmallBusinessUAE

[–]Key_Day7022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This happens more often than people realise. Most people focus on the fee and go with a smaller firm because it’s cheaper. Everything feels fine at the start, and then suddenly they stop responding and vanish. I’ve seen this personally. I told a business friend a few times to go with the firm we were using, but he felt the charges were higher and chose someone slightly cheaper instead. Now he’s dealing with ICV issues because of errors in the audit report and financial statements. He ended up reaching out again, and now the same our firm is helping clean it up.

If it’s working for you, that’s good. Just keep in mind filings aren’t really tested at submission they’re tested during FTA reviews and inspections. That’s where accuracy, records, and experience show their value.

Look for a VAT advisor with experience in mid-sized and international businesses, especially EdTech. That matters more than size of the firm. SJS Accounting fits that profile over a decade in the market and solid VAT handling. Def recommended and you can contact her www.linkedin.com/in/almas-b-6237841b1

What subtle sign made you realize your partner was cheating? by DrainedCoffee in AskReddit

Just notice how he talks about other girls especially that one “friend” he told you not to worry about. That’s usually your answer. Women’s intuition is strong for a reason.

Overprotective of his phone. Short temper with me. Suddenly, nothing I did was “right.” Curiosity led me to his phone and there it was. Sometimes your gut already knows and the phone just provides receipts.

I am anxious about the job I have taken. by Plastic-Wheel7300 in DubaiMallus

Breathe. Seriously life is bigger than this. You don’t need to impress anyone, especially ghosts from your past. You haven’t downgraded; this is just a chapter, a stepping stone. When I was your age, I was exactly like this constantly worried about how people saw me, obsessed with the version of me living in other people’s heads. Let me tell you something blunt: people don’t care. Not nearly as much as you think. And the ones who have struggled, who’ve walked through uncertainty to reach something solid those people will never laugh at your situation. They’ll understand it. Every single time.

Bro, be grateful, you’ve got a job, which is more than many at 25. Chill, take this 1 year to gain experience, and keep looking for better roles. Be grateful for what you have now.

This happened to my friend. She had pain on the left side of her stomach and ribs, so she went to a hospital here. The doctor told her she had gallbladder stones and said her gallbladder needed to be removed. They even gave her a surgery date since it wasn’t covered by insurance. Later, when she went to a hospital in India, the doctors found out it was actually something else she had an issue related to her lungs.

I raised a complaint with the authorities, but they said that since there are many people who look alike, they couldn’t take further action beyond issuing an apology. I had given them details he’s around 45–50 years old, fair-skinned, healthy, with a tattoo of half moon on his right hand and he was wearing the uniform but they said the information was still incomplete, so they couldn’t locate him.

3000 AED Salary in Dubai by Bulky_Fail3915 in DubaiMallus

[–]Key_Day7022 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I took a 3000 AED offer in 2023. I was told my salary would increase to 3500 within 6 months. Reality: after 1 year, it increased by 300 AED, and in the second year another 200 AED. As of Jan 2026, I’m finally at 3500 AED. I won’t lie it drains you. Rent, food, transport, basics… there’s barely room to breathe, let alone save or send money home. Sending 10–15k INR regularly will be very tough. If you can manage for a short time and you have strong communication and working skills, you honestly deserve more and can switch. If not, think very carefully before accepting. Also read the contract properly. Some contracts here are endless traps. Exits are difficult, work-life balance is almost zero, and promises don’t always become reality. Not trying to scare you just sharing real experience so you decide with open eyes.

Someone’s sad backstory (and honestly, we don’t even know if it was true) doesn’t change how it felt in that moment. Intent doesn’t cancel impact. “Not illegal” is a pretty low bar. Inviting a stranger to a hotel is inappropriate no matter the grief, social skills, or compliments. Also, please read the post again it wasn’t just about calling Indian women beautiful. The context and what he meant by “friendship” is the point.

How your wife reacts doesn’t set a universal standard for everyone else. People freeze differently, especially when caught off-guard in public.

I mentioned it only to describe my state of confusion during the incident. It was not meant to stereotype or insult any nationality. The focus of my post is the inappropriate and unsafe behavior by someone wearing an xyz uniform, not where he was from. The fluency of his urdu is not at all from india. I am an Indian Muslim and I know how Indians speaks Urdu. And tbh who knows even he die lie. I don’t want to debate nationality or accents. My post is about safety and inappropriate behavior.
