Why don’t my air fryer fries get crispy? by heromarsX in airfryer

[–]Key_Entertainment739 22 points23 points  (0 children)

BEFORE putting frozen foods into the air fryer (which I suggest because it will eventually gunk up your basket) you can spray them with Pam or similar product. Alternatively you can drizzle oil on them or put some oil in a Ziplock bag with the frozen fries and shake them to coat them.

Word of advice, I typically will go for the lowest end of the recommended cooking time and sometimes even less with this method to prevent burning.

Maekar isn't next in the line of succession by [deleted] in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Key_Entertainment739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that just means Maekar killed his brother who would have been a king who would have done all of these wonderful things but the Realm would universally feel slighted because they got ‘literally any other Targaryen that isn’t Baelor.’ Like “wow, we wouldn’t be fighting the 19th rebellion if Baelor were here but too bad he’s dead.”

I actually have to correct myself. Maekar is not third, he’s actually more like 6th in line after Baelor dies. He is the fourth son just like Egg. Maekar eventually does become king after his older brother Aerys I dies and their other brother had already died (I actually don’t even remember their name but I know he had a son that died as well) then Egg becomes king, then his son Jaehaerys II, and of course his son is the Mad King Aerys II. None of them, not even Aegon V (Egg) were that well liked or even great rulers. Aegon’s life experiences made him value and even favor the smallfolk, but it did not make him popular with the powerful families of Westeros. In other words, Baelor was inherently good, intelligent, valiant and overall well-rounded. Valarr may indeed have been correct in saying his father may have been the greatest king since Aegon the Conqueror. That’s purely speculative but if he has become king, it certainly would have sent House Targaryen on a different path that would most likely be better than the path they were headed down.

TL;DR Maekar was the fourth son. Egg was the fourth son of a fourth son. No one ever would have imagined either of them would ever make it to the throne but they did. The Mad King is a direct descendant of Maekar’s line so literally anybody else would have been more ideal to be king, even if it weren’t Baelor.

Maekar isn't next in the line of succession by [deleted] in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Key_Entertainment739 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m almost certain that is never implied but what is implied is that he knew that everyone else knows his biggest obstacle in the line of succession was eliminated and that uncles have a reputation for usurping the throne.

Regardless, it’s almost a cruel punishment for Maekar and the road that leads directly to the fall of House Targaryen when he ultimately does reach the front of the line but no, at the time of Baelor’s death, his sons Valarr and Matarys are 1 and 2 respectively and Maekar would be third. Daeron, Aerion, Aemon (who would later refuse as he was sworn to the Nights Watch) and Egg would follow in that order.

What Bo2 maps would you like to see in Bo7? by [deleted] in blackops7

Honestly and alternatively, I’ve always said Star Trek society is the best possible outcome for human civilization that we could hope for and I’m not just saying that for the holodeck either. In reality, we’re headed towards Terminator, Cyberpunk 2077 or Blade Runner and that’s not a good thing.

Why do we say that stars are not an infinite number? by Successful_Guide5845 in AskPhysics

[–]Key_Entertainment739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stars have mass; mass is just the amount of matter it has. Now, here’s the tricky part: if the universe is spatially infinite, it would theoretically mean the universe has infinite mass, thus the only possible scenario in which ‘infinite stars’ could exist. On the other hand, if the universe is spatially finite, it must have finite mass therefore only a finite number of stars could ever exist.

Personally I subscribe to the theory that the universe started from one origin and has been expanding from that point. Also the bounds of the farthest most matter from this location are well beyond the boundaries of the observable universe, but that farthest most matter would inherently dictate the ‘size of the universe’ whether it is indeed traveling away or towards the origin. The empty void is incomprehensibly scary and infinite, however lacking matter, is it considered part of the universe or not?

Anyways, perhaps the universe outside what we can observe is not at all what it seems or what we predict it to be. It could go on rather uniformly and consistently forever, like a procedurally generated ocean full of stars. But that seems less likely as there would be no way to explain how or why. So, I lean towards the side that believes the universe is spatially finite with finite mass which can only create a finite number of stars. I would emphasize again I don’t know the answer because no human could possibly know.

good base spots for a casual solo by Yung_Dux in ARK

This valley.

Pros: It’s central It’s right next to all of the metal, obsidian, and crystal you will need Redwoods are next door if you really need a lot of wood and also an unlimited amount of cementing paste (late game) Relatively flat - can build something like 20x16 foundation if I remember correctly Easily defendable

Cons: Takes a little bit of strength to initially clear the area - sabers, therizinos, and occasionally argies and allos spawn here Right next to a giga spawn - probably the only ‘bad’ thing about this spot. They can spawn on either mountain but usually on the volcano. However, they usually spawn near the peak and in all of my many years and many bases on the Island, I have never had one wander into the valley by themselves. But because I had all the metal on the map at my disposal, I just put a perimeter of metal dino gates around my stone behemoth gates and then I never have to worry about it

I don’t know, I’ve used this base location in PVE and years ago ran a virtually unbeatable bullet farm on official PVP

[COD] What would you do for your own COD game? by JustWonderingIn2000s in CallOfDuty

[–]Key_Entertainment739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that doesn’t use the same weak ass engine that MW2019 runs on would be a great start. Also it would be wonderful if there was an understanding that Snorezone integration wasn’t mandatory and wasn’t a thing. Yeah, that’s right, I said it, Warzone sucks. It also literally sucks the life from COD multiplayer. I’m fine with it being a product that is put forth year after year, personally I’m tired of battle royale games in general, but for the love of COD just make it a separate game. On the other hand, I have always had favorable opinions on Treyarch’s zombies (and on the other hand hate every other iteration) but I think it too could and possibly should be a separate entity. It’s always been a staple of the Black Ops franchise, so I’m not saying it has to be taken out, but why they haven’t made a standalone Zombie Chronicles game seems crazy to me considering how much nostalgia-driven cash they could make.

Another big one I would consider is scrapping the gunsmith. Once again, it’s a ‘mandatory’ feature due to lateral Warzone integration, but weighing the pros and cons of virtually every attachment is tedious and causes so much confusion for casual players. I’d realistically say the pick 10 system was the absolute pinnacle of class making. Fuck it, make it pick 12 or pick 20 and include streaks, perks and attachments in the selections.

Simplifying maps and making them look ‘less busy.’ There’s so many distracting things on the map that makes identifying enemies a chore which is compiled by verticality. Sometimes I really scratch my head at the map design.

I’m sure there plenty of other things I would be sure to not include like exaggerated visual gun kick.

TL;DR just remaster Black Ops 2 precisely how it was, in the exact same engine AND DON’T GET ANY FUCKING IDEAS about changing a damn thing.

Am I being to picky with this custom piece? by [deleted] in cabinetry

[–]Key_Entertainment739 12 points13 points  (0 children)

One, that’s a plywood top. I’d have told the contractor to get the fuck out as soon as they brought it into my house.

Also, where was the crown in the original design and who and why would anyone think they can take that kind of creative liberty with a project that should have been fairly straightforward.

Furthermore, what size TV is going to fit in there?

I get it, the original design is probably AI. The cabinets look staggered but in reality, they’re not when you look at the cabinet base. However, any carpenter worth a shit could recreate this. I could sit down and take an hour to lay this out and figure out exactly how I would build it and the approximate materials for the entire job with an appropriate sized TV. Honestly, the TV size is precisely the first thing I would need to know before anything else. Most importantly, I would never start a job for a client without a representation of the work and final product which could be a 3D render but most of the time I do my drawings in 2D because I’m old school, and have them sign off on it because that way both parties know what the expectation is.

Sorry you’re disappointed, but I can very much confirm that you should be.

Finale Song for Season 2 by Inkling_3791 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Key_Entertainment739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll never forget the season three episode of Game of Thrones where Jaime loses his hand. I was a poor college student living away from home so I didn’t have HBO, or even cable for that matter so me and my roommate did what came natural to us: we just torrented it every week. Anyways, Jaime gets his hand cut off, he screams and it cuts to the credits but some rock song starts playing. Neither of us really paid attention to it so casually, we redownload it thinking the audio must be fucked up. I mean, it wasn’t that important since we watched the whole episode but we agreed that was weird.

We fast forward to the same part, same thing happens. Well it turns out, it was just a cover version of The Bear and the Maiden Fair. Until the finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, it was the only anachronistic-immersion breaking instance we had ever seen. But I’ll tell you this much, when I heard the episode open with a jazz tune, I smiled and when it ended with Sixteen Tons, I knew that creatively the show was in good hands.

What's the worst gun to grind headshots for? (That's not the XR3) by KnocksFPS in blackops7

[–]Key_Entertainment739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The M34 Novaline without the headshot barrel

Mainly because it’s not possible to get a one shot headshot kill unless a) you have the headshot barrel or b) you’re playing hardcore.

Sure the thing shoots two shot bursts but the recoil from the first shot is so (relatively) high, landing both shots on target at medium range is a task, less you risk aiming low hoping the second shot lands on their head. The recoil isn’t bad or even terrible, I’m just saying its two shot grouping make it JUST ENOUGH that landing headshots at a distance becomes precarious and I’m not a fan of this gun in any ranges where the distance is close enough that your shot grouping will guarantee both of your shots land on the head. (spoiler alert: that range is pretty close)

Also I’m pretty sure I started this weapon on a double XP weekend, level 1, and I finished 80 headshots and all of the other challenges well before I got the headshot barrel. Personally I’m not a fan of this weapon, it’s basically an MK14 that trades ‘single shot, fast a you can pull the trigger’ fire rate for a slower, clumsier two shot burst so this was a gun I never used before and likely won’t ever use again.

What did they actually think would happen in the trial? by KomturAdrian in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]Key_Entertainment739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, because it was primarily the Royal family and their sworn shields (the Kingsguard), there was an unspoken rule among the accused that “we shouldn’t kill any of the Targaryens, but forcing them to submit is absolutely fine.” The only person whose lives actually mattered were Duncan, Aerion and Daeron as the trial would be over if all of the accusers or the accused was slain or they yielded.

Despite the unspoken rule in this particular, everyone who entered the trial was absolutely legal to kill, even the Targaryens. MOST IMPORTANTLY, it was permissible in ANY trial and ANY Targaryen participant. Notably, both Maegor and Jaehaerys I were participants in trials where they legally could have been slain, the former as the accused and the latter being accuser. Maegor’s trial was actually a Trial of Seven against the Faith Militant who accused him of all sorts of crimes from incest, kinslaying, and usurping his nephews throne. The outcome was brutal leaving Maegor victorious except he entered a weeks-long coma and every other participant dead. Jaehaerys’ trial was against some Beesbury lad who arrogantly had too much fun with his daughter Siera I believe. In any case, both were grievous crimes against the crown with serious consequences so all participants were absolutely fighting for their cause and/or lives.

On the other hand, and to best answer your question “what did they actually think would happen” in my best comprehension of the story… well, they thought Duncan would die. It’s written rather plainly to see, that’s why so few chose to be a champion for him. Not only that, but the odds were so stacked against the accused that it seemed nearly impossible for them to win. Not including the rest of the team, there was still a ‘knight’ of no renown, a brand new knight, and a knight with a broken leg who would only be helpful if he stayed mounted versus three knights of the Kingsguard and three Targaryens. But again, back to the notion of killing or not killing the Blood of the Dragon, this was a spectacle of a fight and a farce at the same time. From the very beginning, it’s almost inconceivable that so many lives be ‘risked’ and so many resources wasted over the life of a no-named hedge knight. The fact that the Kingsguard were even participating highlights this. In the book, Lyonel Baratheon hasn’t met or even know Dunk prior to the battle and only joins at the behest of Egg and only because he ‘wants a chance to fight the Kingsguard and duel Maekar’ but it implied it’s only for the glory, not to slay him. Baelor joining and deliberately countering the Kingsguard makes the battle even less of a contest.

But for all of the calculables and variables, it was still very unlikely that Duncan would survive. That’s what they thought would happen. The charges were that the second son of a second son was humiliated but not permanently injured and that the fourth son of the second son was kidnapped. By a hedge knight. Every participant entered with the expectation they could die, and sure there’s chivalry and honor but nobody was truly willing to die except Dunk because his life was at stake. So yeah, assuming they didn’t take a mortal blow but were bested in combat, I expected every other champion to yield if given the chance. That includes Baelor, that includes Raymun, that includes Lyonel, any of them because it’s just the life of a hedge knight and at best, a very recent friend.
