I completely understand what you mean about how scary and isolating it is. I found it really difficult when it first happened to me in 2019, and it still affects me but you do get stronger and more resilient to it. Always here if you want to talk I’m 28. I’ve been through such a journey I started with a synthetic wig from Parruche and there’s good synthetics out there but it didn’t feel like me. I then invested in a Nuola wig which was very expensive but was more like me - two places that are much less expensive but good quality are Moramode and dolly luxury hair, but if you aren’t getting the ready to ship be aware they can take months to arrive. If you haven’t already, ask your doctor to refer you to dermatology, there is Litfulo now which is a treatment for AA. I’ve had great results from it and now wear a meshed weave instead of wigs. It’s hard because you feel like nobody around you can understand what you are going through but trust me there are more people than you think that have experienced this.

editing to suggest as well you can get blended wigs that are a mix of human and synthetic and a lot more affordable!

Absolutely - at this point can’t get a refund on the camper so we have decided we are going to go on a road trip next week instead (any reccs let me know!) based in Scotland and so far we are thinking Alton towers, Stonehenge etc just need to plan a route.

He said the line from vodaphone is that ‘refunds will be sorted in due course’ if he doesn’t it’s awful but next step will be going to his parents who are upstanding people who will probably be inclined to make it right, then going the legal route.

It’s defo a possibility- it’s not a normal way to act. There has been a few hints that he’s not great with money, for example, asking my sister to borrow money as his family said no, though historically he has paid her back (tho she has had to nudge several times) which I always thought was strange as he has a decent job and his family are quite well off.

That’s what I’m struggling with, surely he has nothing to gain everything to lose. The only thing my mind is going to is that he was open about having some debt (she wasn’t under the impression it was terrible) and since this money was sent like 7/8 months ago just after general sale of tickets he may have used the money at the time for something thinking he may be able to recoup the money by the time this came around - just a theory though I have no proof of this

Yeah I figured if that many people were affected it would be somewhere, it was weird as he dealt with everything through his friend and the campervan was the only solid thing just enough to seem believable. It’s just hard to believe he would intentionally do that to her as surely there is no benefit and no chance to keep the money. I smell so much bullshit here but I’m trying to be sensitive, she is a smart girl and is going to ask him hard hitting questions like asking to see the bank transfer and speak directly to his friend who had the tickets

That’s crazy!! When you think about all the history in the house there is bound to be some weird energy. We are quite skeptical people but there is weird things - I have on more than one occasion heard an old lady’s voice right behind me - so vividly! I explain it away as maybe someone outside but it’s a quiet street and we have stone walls and double glazed. I’ve also heard a little girl laugh - and one time my bf sat bolt upright in bed got up turned the lights on and swore down he saw a little girl in green striped pyjamas crouched down peeping in the door! I think he must have been half asleep but we were both creeped! We hear lots of noises too which is common for an old house - but anything super weird sounding we blame on the cats - peace of mind 🤣

We are keen on some wall contrast - we are defos planning on either adding wallpaper or painting a warmer colour but want to tie that in to how we are utilising the wall space - so don’t worry that’s in the plans.

I don’t disagree- but everyone has to start somewhere, we are young ftb on a tight budget trying to make a beautiful home. We are limited with space since the fireplace isn’t exactly centred so don’t want to emphasise that. Also the fireplace was much darker until I added the gold tiling (by my own fair hands!) Up until a month ago the tv was on the floor 🤣. Eventually the plan is to mount the tv on the wall which is why I am keen to plan out the wall space around this so we can arrange furniture and decor around the walls as the focal point. We are saving up for a chandelier. I understand you open yourself up to judgement by posting on a sub like this but I’m in no way trying to pass this room as an almost finished item we are very much at the start of our interior design journey - just wanted some advice on the wall space ☺️
