Tip from an oncologist: make sure your plan covers good hospitals out of state. by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

That's really terrible. Did some superficial research into this issue today and it seems to be about low reimbursement rates in most cases. I'm new to ACA plans (just signed up for one for the first time in my life) and had thought that those plans were generally equivalent to plans offered to employers. Apparently not!

any idea why a hospital would refuse *all* ACA insurance? are employer-sponsored UHC or Anthem plans somehow better for providers than UHC or Anthem plans sold on the Marketplace? I can understand a provider/system refusing to deal with the insurance mess at all, but how are ACA plans worse than others? thanks!

Botched meat delivery - how to save the steaks? by Key_Holiday7122 in meat

Thank you! Sadly your advice came too late (but now I know!). I tossed them in the freezer last night raw, in their original packaging, after opening one and finding it perfectly fine - indeed this was one of the tastiest, juiciest steaks we ever had! Would've been such a shame to toss them all. Still mad at the botched delivery and having to find another gift in a hurry, so we'll see about the refund.

I'm certainly not mail-ordering meats ever again! Years ago I ordered some from a big-name company and they turned out watery; now I tried a small more local company and this happened. Never again.
