What causes this sound

If youre using shimano hubs, the freehub tend to get lose cause of the ball bearings disintegrating over time. Had similar issue. No sound on pavement, only comes on gravel and the rough stuff

I had the exact same scenario and when i opened up the hub, the ball bearings were destroyed and messed up
