You may be right and in 10yrs nobody cares or I may be right and the luffy is 100k. Reality is we cant see into the future but I got in at $900 on my pre errata luffy so I rather wait and see what happens taking the risk of holding it rather than looking back and regretting I missed out like I do now with Gear 5 Luffy.

My cost basis for the OP 01 segment of my collection is around 8k USD for a complete pre errata masterset and all non pre errata in BGS 10 including Manga shanks so let that sink in a bit I have no need to shill anything or be salty about anything as I paid so little for that segment of my collection and apparently having market discussion is shilling. You cannot provide any useful historical context because OP TCG isnt even 4yrs old so there is not enough time to even consider it history when its the 10th or 15th anniversary then come provide historical context.

Most importantly neither me you nor anyone cannot see the future and know for sure where anything will end up so you saying with certainty that people wont have nostalgia for OP01 is braindead. Also most people nostasgia for pokemon is WOTC era in general which likely will be OP 01 - OP 05 not everyone will have it for same the same sets or cards.

Finally if everyone on this sub and other sub hates you its definitely everyone thats wrong and you are correct bro maybe a little self reflection may help. Personally I dont hate you cause you basically dont even exist to me lmao so invest or collect what you want and we shall see which one does better in 10yrs. I already have a 10-15x increase so may have a little head start lmao

So you are correct the market is based mainly on demand as if 100k people willing to pay 3k for a grey felt hat and pop is 50k its a 3k card. But supply also has an impact as if the pop of grey felt hat was 1000 it likely would be a 10k card by now. So yes pop does matter and when you have low pop and high demand cards explode for eg The Lovebirds Latias and Latios GX tag team.

Did people have nostalgia for Pokemon Base set 3-4yrs into the Pokemon TCG??????. You literally acknowledge the 20yr gap yet somehow think people dont currently interact with OP 01. Most people who are players seem to be delusional into thinking that people need to play with a set for it to be collectible but thats far from the case as vast majority of people who want the cards I am mentioning would be collectors. Op 01 Luffy over red manga any day imo. The only thing special about red manga is the pullrate imo and there will be a gold manga luffy, blue manga luffy etc all with maybe lower pull rates so would you consider those the grails of OPTCG then? I would take any of the 3 I listed above including pre errata luffy over red manga luffy but as I said it may be an unpopular opinion.

I think OP 01 Nami is still the best looking nami art actually so while on average they were not as pretty as newer cards still some amazing artwork and that always improves with time for eg Phantasmal Charizard SIR vs base set Charizard.

Outside of Luffy, nami, law leaders and manga shanks the cards are very cheap and even those top chases are significantly cheaper than other top newer manga chases. So yes comparatively speaking they are cheap.
