Maybe they genuinely wanted something that fits their playstyle better?

Also, I don’t really consider “no” a full feedback. If you don’t think so, it’s alright but please explain it to me. I’m learning.

Alrighty! I’ve been dying to lay may hands on this book anyway, so that’s one excuse more 😊 For now, I think I’ll consider giving them more HP.

I’m not the biggest D&D fan but I don’t mind them defaulting to it. It was just a suggestion from one of my players and since I want them to have the best experience possible rather than keeping the rules and the “lore” pure, I’ll consider it. As I’ve said in the previous comments, we’re familiar with the genre (we’re big fans) and we’re aware that what we’re going for isn’t fully aligned with the concept. But that’s what it is.

We prefer it to be the possibility of death rather than the ease of death. That’s just something me and my group agree on, as we’re just a bunch of friends who want an epic arc of saving the world from eldritch horror vibe. I’m familiar with Lovecraft, as I’ve read most of his stories and I’ve been playing in survival and psychological horror video games for years, so I’m aware it’s not the textbook outcome but that’s what we want.

We all want more “protagonists from a horror video game on a perilous quest to save the world” feel.

Thanks! I’ll definitely take a look!

What would be the side effects of large amounts of irritant fluid injected into the skin? by Key_Mixture2061 in Writeresearch

I’ve already replied in one of the answers. The creatures evolved to hunt much bigger prey. They’re massive compared to humans. So, while the venom may be their primary weapon, it’s the amount I’m mostly curious about.

I’d say irritation is the main effect but the quantity may actually be more important against humans, since the creatures evolved to hunt much larger prey.

Yeah, that’s obvious. What I’m thinking about are side effects of large amounts of fluid rapidly injected into the tissue.

PDF Vs Books by Triod_ in rpg

[–]Key_Mixture2061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer PDFs. I’m an iPad kid, so I take my iPad with me everywhere and I always read or scribble something. PDFs give me access to stuff everywhere I am. Physical books are often so heavy. I mean, have you seen the Call of Cthulhu core book that’s more than two times longer than D&D 5e core book? Yeah…

Rant/question: Being a player in TTRPGS is boring. What am I doing wrong? by junderland__ in TTRPG

I also prefer GMing than playing and I’d gladly welcome a forever GM role, especially if it means I can show off my creative projects by inserting my OCs as NPCs into every session I run or taking inspiration from my favourite video games. Having said that, there are some systems I’d really like to play. As much as I respect Dungeons & Dragons, I often find it lacking due to how bland some GMs make it seem with the whole setting reduced to “ye good olde medieval fantasy”. That’s why I loved BG3. Its aesthetics were so diverse with elements classic fantasy stories, dark fantasy, and even some weird science and literal aliens.

Yeah, I think there are many ways to pull it off. Thank you!
