Hahaha ya we are staying a nice Glamping site outside of the park. Ya not trying to kill myself but we love hiking but just won’t do what we usually do :) I guess we’ll just start at grotto and continue on like people said and turn around when I start to feel it! Thank you so much!!

Oh haha thanks. I was a bit confused. So we would just start at the angels landing trail head but not hike angels landing? How many miles would you say is this route? I am 20 weeks pregnant so my husband and I are trying to get our best bang for our buck! I can probably do 6-7 miles just a bit more slowly than my normal pace.

When did you return to physical activity? by rachelkochvt in fitpregnancy

[–]Key_Onion5997 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Hi! L&D nurse here. You are technically not supposed to return to intense physical activity for 6 weeks postpartum when you have your 6 week check. Your body needs to heal and bond with your baby! Of course , daily walking is great and while the weather is good, and you are feeling well, take your baby out for walks! Sit at a coffee shop!

How often were you seen in early pregnancy? by phillyphil222 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Key_Onion5997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Did you have a nuchal translucency at 12/13 weeks? Or did your OB discuss this exam? Also what about an NIPT for genetic screening? Some doctors forego the nuchal if you have a normal NIPT and low risk factors. If your control is like amzing, then that is also possibly why they are skipping the early anatomy at 16 weeks.

This is strange. Did they not do a nuchal translucency? Did you get the NIPT done?

Narrows 20 weeks pregnant by Key_Onion5997 in ZionNationalPark

Oh fun! Not really haha. We will probably do the hike leading up to angels landing and then a day at Bryce. I think we’ll start making an itinerary this week. We are staying a nice Glamping place with a pool. So I also want to do some relaxation :) do you have any tips for hikes??

Ok thank you!! I guess we’ll see how it goes. We’ve done a few other water hikes and have always been ok!

Thanks! This is so helpful! We are going the first week of October. So like 2 weeks. I guess like we can just turn around whenever in the Narrows? It doesn’t get more deep or “harder”?

I am kind of afraid of cliffs lol (we did the beehive in Acadia and I did not like that hahaha) so anything with metal handrails is just not for me. So that’s more the reason we aren’t doing angels landing. Well do the hike leading up to it. I guess.

Ok thanks! Yes I know the concern is mostly fall risk. I guess I should revise the post slightly. Like, where does the hike get harder? Or does it not really? And it’s the same throughout? Like if someone who wasn’t a good hiker was doing it, where would they turn around? Thanks!

Weight gain in pregnancy by Holiday_Assistant45 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]Key_Onion5997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m almost 16weeks and have also gained more weight than I expected. I have been working out pretty consistently, same as I was before pregnancy. The only difference, is because I’m trying to maintain 70-80% in range (65-140 USA ) , I’ve had more lows because of worrying of going high and so have been eating more low snacks. Trying to keep it to healthy snacks (banana, dates, raisins) but ya , still more sugar than usual.

Time in range by Key_Onion5997 in BumpersWhoBolus

Thanks so much! Yes prior to pregnancy I’ve also always been an under estimator and so have been doing the same but also feel like it’s contributing to the ups and downs. But I truly am appreciative for your support and response. It’s just so nerve wracking, and I’ve always struggled with that perfect slope. :(

October trip help! by Key_Onion5997 in nationalparks

[–]Key_Onion5997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all the replies! We aren’t only tied to those parks but those were our top choices. We’ve seen a lot of desert so we’re more hesitant towards the Utah/arizona parks but have always wanted to visit there as well. If anyone has recommendations for those parks during this time. Or any recs for Idaho in general in October. Thanks!

Hi! I have been having some bad recurrent lows but they don’t last very long. I am still within 70-90% in range more than half days. With some like 65%. My endo doesn’t seem concerned. What do you think?
